ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Correct. 0.33% is the merchant rate for government organisations with both Visa and Mastercard, anything on top of that is someone making a "profit". In the ATO's case I'm pretty sure they say that they only pass along their costs, which would imply Optus are picking up the difference for...

They'd also have become a member of an External Dispute Resolution scheme... oh the fun that could be had with that :) Not sure if this is what you're asking, but the Act comes into force today - about 41 minutes ago assuming it's effective from midnight ADST!

Oooh - wonder if that's new, don't remember seeing it last time I was in TPR. On a semi-relevant (to this thread) note, I'm flying MEL-xSIN-xICN-SFO this coming weekend, all on 77Ws. You know you're well past spoiled when you're disappointed to "only" be flying SQ F!

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Surely QF use some of the surveys they send out to fill in some of these blanks? I know I've completed a couple over the years that have covered off most of these points. Granted, it's not great data (or should I say, information :)), but it's better than nothing.

ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Creating the inverse is much easier - to the best of my knowledge: - Any Citibank-administered cards won't pay points for ATO, which means all the Citibank-branded cards and the Virgin Flyer / High Flyer cards (don't think there are any others - at least not common ones) - Any Amex-branded...

ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

No sympathy - try weekly PAYG (on behalf of employees - what it's called specifically I don't know) payments! Luckily I don't have to calculate / pay myself, though.

ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

Not sure if "ANZ Rewards card" is a specific type of ANZ card, of it you just mean ANZ cards in general? Anyway, I put ATO through my ANZ Platinum Qantas card every month (that's all that goes through it!) and it earns just fine.

    Qantas Platinum One experiences?

Enjoy it - one of the best things I've ever done. I want to go back and do it again, just need to find the spare time!

ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

I'd say it's still worth it, given SRO surcharge is so low (0.33%, IIRC). No idea on the Bpay question, sorry.

ATO (tax office) payments by credit card

To the best of my knowledge none of the SROs take Amex. So, if you don't have another Visa / Master option, your only choice is the Visa/Master that came with your Altitude Black Amex.

Don't forget the FA darting out of the galley to hold the toilet door open for you, too!

Are you looking at some option to directly redeem Altitude points for flights? If so, that's not the way to do it - it's never the way to do it, with any credit card rewards program, unless you have no other option. You transfer Altitude points to KrisFlyer, Velocity, Enrich, etc, and book with...

Thanks for the info! Sorry for the super-duper-slow reply - in the middle of moving house so the last few weeks have been... hectic. I used the SQ website to find the SQ flights - that's the only way to do it, as SQ release far more seats to KrisFlyer members than *A partners (which is...

Single itinerary - must be booked over the phone when *A partner airlines are involved. The agent I spoke with was fantastic - I read out the flights I wanted, she said she'd call me back once she checked the itinerary was allowed (she wasn't sure initially if the backtracking on the last two...

    Just booked my parents their first Suites flight - MEL-xSIN-xLHR-xFRA-BUD (SQ 77W F / SQ 388 R / LH 321 J / LH 733 J) - for late this year :-)

Thanks to both of you for the info - and merry Xmas!

Do SQ award tickets allow intra-Europe connections & minor backtracking?

Does anyone know if SQ will allow intra-Europe connections on *A partners (with minor backtracking) to be tacked onto the "end" of an Australia-Europe SQ award itinerary - both in terms of whether it's allowed at all, and if so, how it affects the points-price? The reason for asking, in case...

WESTFIELD GIFT CARDS / Spend $50 or more, get $10 credit

I don't have the T&Cs in front of me, but I'm pretty sure it was limited to one $10 bonus per registered card (which would make sense, too, or you could "print money" via this promotion). So, your (revised) plan only would have worked if you have 12 separate Amex cards :-)

WESTFIELD GIFT CARDS / Spend $50 or more, get $10 credit

Yep, two of the three cards I used were bank issued - including an ANZ card. Checked your spam folder? Sure you registered the card properly prior to buying the gift card?
