It looks like there's a $2.95 fee to issue a Westfield gift card so the net "savings" are $10 - $2.95 = $7.05

I don't see this offer available when I click "offers" on the amex connect website, though I have a CBA issued amex and not an amex issued amex.
Perhaps it's not available to me?

Here's my contribution to the thread however, for those that are in Melbourne, you can get a bonus $10 Westfield giftcard with the purchase of a $100 gift card at Westfield Southland.

I was at Southland on Saturday and noticed the sign at the concierge desk, on sunday I was at Westfield Wantirna Sth and the concierge said the deal was only available at southland.

I am unsure about other states, but this should change the economics of the deal :)

Edit: I notice in the T&C's that CBA cards are eligible, but I still can't find the link to the deal, does anyone mind sharing the link with me?

Thanks
John

indeed there's a $2.95 service fee for purchasing the card.

free shipping if you purchase the gift voucher online.

Enter code: FREEPOST at checkout.

I believe it is also charged at the concierge..
That is a bit rich but I guess a $7.05 saving is better than nothing. I need some new shoes and 2 for 1 at Payless with a discount sounds good.

Used this to buy 3 x $50 vouchers in person today (on three different Amex cards) - pretty good little deal. Seems to be "working" for Amex / Westfield too, as all three people on front of me in line were buying $50 gift cards on their Amexes. Almost instant email confirmation of the $10 statement credit too, which I thought was pretty impressive for bank IT!

I got a statement credit email for my David Jones AMEX but not for my ANZ (bank issued) AMEX... Did you also use a bank issued AMEX and get a statement credit email?

Yep, two of the three cards I used were bank issued - including an ANZ card. Checked your spam folder? Sure you registered the card properly prior to buying the gift card?

I got 2 separate emails for registering both cards but no email for the second transaction... I'll wait a few days I guess. I was pretty surprised that the first one was instant anyway...

Went to Westfield Southland yesterday to purchase my gift cards.

Both myself and the misses bought $100 cards each to take advantage of the bonus $10 gift card promotion they have going there, we got our confirmation emails not long after the purchase, was quite impressed.

I can definitely confirm that there's a $2.95 processing card fee irrespective of being purchased at the concierge or online.
The concierge also pointed out that the westfield card is not accepted at Woolworths or Myer.

Although, I did notice that while in Big W they sold Wish & Myer gift cards, so I suppose if someone wanted to they could do their purchases via Big W.

I did take a snap of the $10 giftcard promotion for those that are near the area. From my understanding this promo is only available at Westfield Southland (In vic), confirmed by the concierge at Westfield Wantirna Sth when I asked about it last week, I am unsure about other states.

All up $92.95 for $110 worth of gift cards is pretty decent :)

At the bottom of the poster, it says that promotion finishes 24/12/2013.

Rookie mistake on my part

Used only one card for one transaction (for 12 cards of $50 each).

Should have had 12 separate card transactions in order to get 12 x $10 bonus

Instead, I got only one bonus.

Could you return/cancel and buy some new ones instead ?

I don't have the T&Cs in front of me, but I'm pretty sure it was limited to one $10 bonus per registered card (which would make sense, too, or you could "print money" via this promotion). So, your (revised) plan only would have worked if you have 12 separate Amex cards :-)
