You'll be lucky to receive most points earned within two weeks. Woolworths and BP rewards have a quick points credit turn around which can appears within days. State border closures illegal under the highest law in the country?

I don't think too many have thought about this too far ahead of half way through next year. There is potential Covid-19 could cause havoc for many years until a vaccine that works. All the work to eliminate the virus could easily become undone.

State border closures illegal under the highest law in the country?

This is what I've been thinking. The longer these smaller population states keep on holding out opening to the larger states, the more their tourism industries suffer. There is a good argument in saying that we can't keep the JokKeeper rolling on for years to prop up their state economies...

    Qantas Points with Afterpay

Murphy's law, by the time I spend over $1000 with Afterpay they will stop the partnership...

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

Considering the Covid-19 is spreading like wildfire in southern US and is having a resurgence in Europe, Japan and many other places in the northern hemisphere (summer over there now). One would think that this virus doesn't die off in the warmer months like the common flu viruses would...

Red Energy cancelling sign on points

Lets hope it's a glitch in the system and not Red Energy about to pull the pin on reward points entirely. It's nice points earner. I received my Red Energy bonus points within 2-3 months from memory, maybe less. However, I signed up as soon as the bonus points system was introduced. I find...

    Qantas Points with Afterpay

Does anybody know if someone has spent $1000 before linking their Qantas FF number that they're eligible straight away to earn points, or do they have to spend $1000 after linking? Thank you.

    Qantas Points with Afterpay

This does seem like a scheme to attract new customers to AfterPay. I wonder if they will ditch this intensive to use their product in a year once they've met their sign-up target? I wonder if competitors will go down the same path e.g. With Velocity points, once Velocity becomes more valuable...

    Booking a flight with confidence?

I agree, considering what has occurred in Vic. I booked my NT trip when Victoria had 0 cases a month ago. I will wait maybe until late this year or early next to re-book my NT trip. However, I'm just concerned about reward availability for multiple people if I leave it too late. However, who...

    Booking a flight with confidence?

Hi, So, I had to cancel a trip to Europe for September back in April. I booked a trip to the top end NT for mid September a bit over a month ago, as I thought the situation was improving in Australia. However, as I'm from Victoria it appears that I most likely at this stage wont be allowed into...

Qantas Revenue booking cancellations (under covid19)

Thanks. It was a Qantas CC (Citibank). I suppose I will call them up in a couple of weeks if I don't hear anything. I'm guessing Qantas may not transfer the funds for at least a month going by what others have said here.

Qantas Revenue booking cancellations (under covid19)

Thank you for your reply. Is Qantas meant to send a confirmation e-mail when they credit the money back into my now cancelled credit card? Or does this occur straight away? After I cancelled the flights I didn't receive a confirmation e-mail only text on the screen saying I will be credited...

Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

Unfortunately, I can foresee international travel being hampered for at least a year. The federal government will probably force inbound people (NZ may be exempt) to quarantine in a hotel for two weeks before being allowed into the community. This will of course put Aussies off traveling...

Qantas Revenue booking cancellations (under covid19)

I just cancelled a flight to Europe for August. Fortunately, it looks like I didn't loose any points as the airline changed the flight schedule to a day later. However, I'm now owed hundreds in taxes. The CC I used to pay for the taxes is now cancelled, so will Qantas send me a cheque or a...

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

If the likes of JobKeeper and the boosted JobSeeker are required after October then we truly are about to enter a depression.

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

Well considering most people wont have the money they use to have to splash around on fancy things it would make sense for VA to become more of a no-frills airline. It doesn't need to become a TigerAir but somewhere in between VA and Tiger.

Is it Time to transfer/withdraw points from Velocity?

I wonder how difficult it will be to obtain reward seats world wide once this crisis is over or close to over. I'm guessing airles will want full paying customers. However,

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

You may remember 'V Australia' has the southern cross on it's tail. However, I think changing the livery on the planes is wasteful unless the brand changes. The planes look great as they are.

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

I think they will continue to use the Virgin Australia branding. However, they will have to negotiate the right fee to Branson if his company is no longer a share holder. Marketing a new name for VA, new livery on planes, uniforms etc will be expensive and wasteful, so if they can come to an...

Virgin Australia Financially Secure? [Now in Voluntary Administration]

Will one thing is for sure. It will be even more difficult to collect VA points (considering Covid-19) for at least the next 6 months whist VA is in administration. VA members and partners wont see the value. Most people will be collecting Qantas points wherever possible I think.
