A plane load of free Virgin Voyagers [Subsequent Issues due to Cancellation of Australian Voyages]

Yes, but… commercial and safety do go hand in hand. Airlines routinely cancel routes due to safety concerns which are also of a commercial nature.

A plane load of free Virgin Voyagers [Subsequent Issues due to Cancellation of Australian Voyages]

They did. And it was a pretty miserable cruise from what I saw. 6 days straight from Perth to Port Louis. Quick stops at Durban, Cape Town and walvis bay then a long haul up to Europe. Virgin didn’t even sell seats on it themselves and just used it to reposition (with a small number of rebooked...

Up to 35,000 Velocity points for switching to AGL Energy

Also received after about 30 days. Interesting that the agent I spoke to suggested not changing plans until a bill is issued as the $200 credit may not be applied if i do.

SQ321 LHR-SIN Encountered Severe Turbulence [At least 1 Fatality and 30 Injured]

I’ve read “dropped 6000’” in 3 minutes or 7 minutes, depending on the article. Both are fairly shallow descents. 7 minutes on the side of “very shallow”. Neither are drops. Likely a result of the crew slowly descending to find a smoother altitude. “Drops” associated with turbulence aren’t a...

    VISA Waiver Program to USA

On the ESTA application? I don’t think it matters really as you can use it multiple times. Last time I went over the immigration guy simply asked the purpose of my visit and I said “training course”. The ESTA was a good year old at this point and I’d already entered a few times.

Article: Best Credit Cards for Overseas Travel & Online Shopping

I’d say it’s just NAB slowly wrapping up the unique elements of the Citi products. Outside of CBA/BankWest, there aren’t too many credit card options that offer rewards with no international fees.

I’ve used that method a few times. Confirm the seats exist, then hang up and call back if the person sounds incompetent (which they do most of the time).

I’d probably say the opposite. Plenty already lost their jobs when virgin tanked, now they’re unemployed (and haven’t been paid for their last month) with zero chance of getting a base in their home city and searching for jobs that have an extremely long and arduous recruitment process. The...

LAX to SYD Award Flight Booked but Flying out of SFO, What to Do?

Realistically, if it’s a single ticket, you have to be rebooked if you misconnect. If there’s a seat available, why wouldn’t you get it? If it’s the middle of the summer holidays and it’s three days until the next seat, well yes then you might have to wait.

Having done a lot of work with local councils… pissing money up the wall does seem to be their speciality! The council will become a creditor. They’ll survive. My thoughts are with the families hurting tonight. While redundancies and insolvencies happen, in this line of work people can’t just...
