Much the same, 20k points for elec received yesterday. Gas has at least transferred this time, Origin didn't bother actioning it when I went for the Woolies offer.
Any thoughts/info as to why elec always gets the bigger % of the bonus vs gas?
Probably because electricity bills are usually 2-4x the dollar value of gas bills (for those without solar)
I no longer have gas, but in my old premises I would usually pay $100-120pq for gas (most of it a supply charge) and $300-400pq for electricity. I have no inside knowledge but expect the energy provider's margin is a % of usage consumption, they stand to make more revenue from an electricity service.

Yeah ok, that makes sense actually. My gas bill is mostly supply charge except for May/June-August/September, although between the two the cost is pretty static month to month (cost just swaps from cooling/elec to heating/gas in the winter), but overall I almost certainly spend more on elec.
hmmm no sign of my points yet despite having already received my first electricity bill and more than 28 days (39 days since sign up and 34 since supply) since AGL actually supplied my address.
My mates bonus (he signed up a few days after me) have arrived though which gets me a bit worried.
I'm confused about how this works. Currently the AGL electricity is in my husband's name (no problem because his points auto-sweep to my acccount). So that would indiacte 3000 points.
We currently have gas with Origin which has both our names on the bill. If I switch it to AGL do we get the full sign up bonus? Or do they consider it as an existing account?
We are also getting pensioner rebates and don't want to risk losing that by switching plans.
Also received after about 30 days. Interesting that the agent I spoke to suggested not changing plans until a bill is issued as the $200 credit may not be applied if i do.
Thanks for mentioning. I had assumed it would be the case and was going to stick around for the first billing cycle, but it got me thinking about when I should expect a bill. I logged into the AGL site to find ...
Was really hoping they'd bill me sooner, I will definitely utilise the full $200 credit in one quarter and was planning to move back to Red ASAP for another QFF SUB.
I'm paying a very slight premium (~8c difference per day in supply + usage) to be with AGL. This was obviously worth it for the VFF + $200 credit, but that difference does eat into the credit when spread over 7 months! I think will call them tomorrow and ask why they can't bill me on a regular quarterly cycle like every other energy supplier I've been with in the past.
Also, just in case anyone's not aware, AGL has a very good Rewards portal for discount gift cards with many retailers - all listed here:

Does anyone know if you'll be able to claim the federal government's rebate if you move providers? Will it automatically follow you as your switch providers?

No, the old meter is mounted to an distribution board that contains asbestos so it's a headache to replace.
I called and spoke to AGL. They couldn't explain why the website reads 219 days, but the next meter read is scheduled for around 12 July. They'll raise a support ticket with the website team and get back to me within 48 hours apparently.
Need to set-up electricy and gas in the next week.
What's the highest offer in the past for RED and AGL?
I'm just trying to figure out which to go for first and then could possibly bounce back and forth.
Are both waiting period 12months?
Go for the AGL first while they're doing the 20k (elec) + 10k (gas) VFF + $200 deal. It's the first time they've offered Velocity points so we don't have a benchmark, but I think they're launching with more than they'd usually offer.
I think the best Red has offered in the past is 10k (elec) + 5k QFF (gas) + 30 SC. Their current deal is the bog standard year-round offer.

Thanks Sudoer!
I didn't know it was the first time Velocity Points are being offered, and I didn't know we get a bonus $200 too. Definitely going to sign up with AGL first.
For Red, I think the current sign up is 10k (elec) + 5k QFF (gas) without the SC. I see some people also have referral links a little more points
