Try using Google Flights or similar to search from your home port to "Europe" and see what it throws up. Trains are quick and easy if flights to AMS are too dear.

I think you are correct. Using the Amex gets you access to a lounge one level above what you otherwise would have. I.e. None -> Business, or Business -> Senator.

It is the total price, I believe, including all the +++. Unlike the nTP system which only includes carrier surcharges.

Sorry, I was misreading. TPs now earned on entire BAH spend not just flights. I have updated my post.
