It does stay the same, but if the booking was made with a Gold number, I've seen properties see the 7th digit and only provide Gold benefits even when the I'd moved up to Plat before the stay. Works against us when rising up the status ranks, works in our favour when dropping down...

Easily doable. Only the JL lounge will be open. There is a CX lounge but it'll be closed when you arrive. Sit towards the front of the cabin for the best chance of the Japanese menu and/or for the quickest meal service. You will almost certainly get PJs.
