    CX Lounge entry denied (SFO)

I might add that when I enquired about possible WestJet lounges when transferring my bags, I was directed to the OneWorld lounges by the WestJet check-in agent.

Westjet flights with a WS flight number now earn QFF points

Easy WestJet seat selection at Qantas check-in. Long time before the WestJet connecting flight so had pick of the plane. Did not seem to be any 24 hour seat selection restriction with the check-in agent. One thing to note: QF73 arrives into SFO at 9.00am. Need to pick up bags, work through...

    CX Lounge entry denied (SFO)

Just had an interesting experience at the CX lounge in SFO. Arrived into SFO from SYD with a long connection time to YVR on a QF marketed WestJet flight. Went to the CX lounge to spend some time. No issues getting in using my WestJet boarding pass and QFWP card on a Friday at 11.00am. Fed and...

Westjet flights with a WS flight number now earn QFF points

Does anyone know what the process is for seat selection on a QF operated by WestJet metal (SFO-YVR), booked through Qantas? I am WP, phoned Qantas, they could not access the seating and did not have a WestJet contact phone number. Qantas provided me with the WestJet booking ref. This got me...

    MH Seat Selection Farce

That's reassuring to hear as my reported experience was very different to all other experiences and I was hoping things had not changed for the worse.

    MH Seat Selection Farce

I've read the posts on MH seat selection but just thought I would share my recent issues with MH seat selection. Part 1: MEL-KUL-KUA in Y. A few weeks out I called MH to request seats as I normally do. I am OneWorld Emerald and can usually get access to the bulk head seats for a bit more space...

QF trialling upgrades at the gate in SFO

Not sure if this was a separate or related 'deal' but just last week I was offered a J upgrade for BKK-SYD for A$685 with no additional points required. Didn't matter what class of Y ticket as the offer was being made to all the Y passengers at check-in before even looking at tickets.

    How to be a WP?

Keep the WP card nicely visible in the wallet - when you're not travelling it seems to make your next trip happen sooner.

AirBNB - Share your experiences here

Have done Airbnb for 1+ week stays in London, Boston, New York (twice), Copenhagen and country SA. All no problem. Did not know (at the time) it was illegal in NY, but still worked well! Best to research extensively beforehand. As well as reviews, owner response times can be a good guide. Make...

Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options Yes, an acquired taste indeed. I was concerned with the connection time, one of 34 minutes, so I asked the question and was advised on this forum: i hear what you're saying - some safety buffer and the potential domino effect missing one...

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options People on this forum may / may not remember answering some newbie questions back on pages 343-347 (thanks for the help again). QF to PVG & HKG for $599 return

Did this successfully about 9 months ago, but it did take a long time for the Qantas staff to issue me with my boarding passes prior to my first Australian domestic connecting flight, I think because it was a relatively new VISA agreement at the time. They had to search and search for the...

Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options Thank you all. Seems like I'm roughly on the right track - a little more research then time to lock something in. Would still welcome any more tips / advice especially route suggestions ex-NY for 600SC.

Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options

re: Discussion/Q&A on Best QF Status Run Options Thanks. I tried: LGA-DFW-MIA-SJU (ret) in F with the MIA-SJU-MIA in J to reap 600SC. But it priced out at $1500, so was looking for slightly cheaper options. Any thoughts on this? And to ask what I think is the obvious: when decided, is this OK...
