So it's the Aussie govt doing this...from 2018? Also just applying the 100ml rule for transit? It's the same in Europe I believe or at least the UK if you have to go through additional security. Always has been I think.
Interested to see how this goes? To be fair, Qatar who will be the handling airline at Dublin, are actually quite good with separate tickets. They have even checked my bags through from QR flights onto BA flights with a separate PNR a few times.
Despite various other routing and carriers I've decided to lock in double VA points and collect current status credit values before the change kicks in on SQ metal. Flights will be in economy so that will be interesting but at least as VA Platinum some lounge access exists.
PER-SIN-CGK...
I'm doing six sectors on SQ around June. Think I'll.just book economy and save myself a fortune and disappointment! At least I will have lounge access.
As others have said, to and from T1 it's easy as. Regular trains. Cheap fare. No stress. If it's late at night though or eary morning..like really early ...look for alternatives. It won't be running!!
Looking at buying some cheaper SQ flights in economy. I'm still not clear on lounge access rules for VA platinum.
I believe that any SQ lounge will allow access? However if lounge is operated by a third party, say at Jakarta then what? Is there any definite guide to follow to make this clear?;
If the opposition is 10kg ..why can't VA at least match it or have some compassion for us in biz and platinum holders. Don't really fancy checking in something at 8kg or so.

Gosh you are keen...😂
Yeah it's under construction. 35 million dollars. Maintenance hangar and apron space for VARA. Partnering with Perth Airport. If I remember I'll take a pic next time.
Yes probably. I tried to simplify it by:
PER-CGK-BKK-PER but no joy. It can be done by PER-CGK then BKK-PER. The CGK -BKK needs to be separate and is priced in USD!
