Qantas Upgrades - Successes or Failures (post results)

In some cases the platinums missed out, in other cases they cleared quite late into J. Upgrades are generally done in the order of W->J, Y->J, Y->W. This maximises the number of pax who clear an upgrade by at least one cabin. Having seen on various flights, who clears first and at what...

Qantas Upgrades - Successes or Failures (post results)

Not always - I have seen multiple cases where a bronze in W upgraded into J before a platinum in Y upgrading to J.

    QF P1 partner platinum

The expiry is supposed to be in sync with your P1 initially, but if your P1 lapses/expires or you remove them as the nominee, they will keep the platinum until their own anniversary month at which point it'll be reassessed on their own earnings.

    JAL Info and advice please

Without seeing dates and itinerary I can't comment directly... but as long as the inventory is there, there's no reason why you cannot have 6 passengers in premium economy. Happy to have a look for you, please feel free to message me privately.

Why can’t QF codeshare with AA on transatlantic flights to cater for the West AUS <> East USA market?

QF already offer fares that allow you to go PER-SIN-LHR-EU-LHR-US-LAX/DFW/JFK-SYD/BNE/MEL-PER. The catch is you need to go via the pacific in one direction, but you don't have to go that way in both directions. I know this is not the same as via Europe in both directions, but it's halfway...

Booking a return ticket for a child (under 6) with different parent - is this possible?

There isn't. There's no standardised procedure that's listed in a reference article or anything like that.

Booking a return ticket for a child (under 6) with different parent - is this possible?

Yes absolutely you can do this. I'm not sure how well versed the contact centre is in dealing with this scenario. As an agent, I do it all the time for separated/divorced parents, whether it's all commercial or a mix of award and commercial (eg. adult A is on award, adult B is on award, child...

Lounge access with PE booking but business class seat allocation, no status?

Yes they have lounge access out of the NZ port before the QF service across the tasman, but not at the AU port for the onwards flight. This scenario has existed for many years, long before any NZ/QF agreement. The same happens on AA W fares ex-NZ via SYD/MEL/BNE to the US.

    NAB reconsiderations?

They can conditionally approve it subject to proof the other card is closed.

Oman Air planning to join Oneworld in 2024

It'll depend on the point of commencement. For example, for point of commencement AU it'll probably be no fuel fines. For point of commencement ID it'll probably be ballpark 400 AUD per journey (eg. CGK-MCT-LHR).

BA-EK interline on QF reward ticket

You will need to collect and re-check. EK was the one that decided to be difficult - they did a dummy spit and tore up the BA/EK interline agreement because BA and QR got into bed with each other.

American Airlines Will No Longer Award Miles Unless You Book Direct

When that announcement happened along with a lot of trade support staff and corporate sales staff being let go, agents actively avoided putting pax on AA... The fact UA/DL didn't follow speaks volumes.

Missing Credit Madness [Qantas refusing Credit for Travel on Partner/oneworld Airlines]

The QF website will only let you service QF flights (including other airline codeshares operated by QF), QF*EK, BA prime flights, QF*AA, QF*AY and I think that's about it. The ability to service BA flights on the QF website is a hangover from pre-2013 days when QF/BA had the EU joint venture...

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

There is no QF piece policy that allows 30kg. It's either 23kg or 32kg. The 30kg non-Americas policy is a weight limit, there is no piece limit when it's weight based. The argument in this case is that the 1 piece at 32kg should've applied to the ICN-SYD given that's the Americas piece policy...

    Interline agreement

Who was the original LAX-SEA operator? AS or AA? Regardless of who it was, they should've opened up alternative flights for you. Ask AS at SFO or even at LAX T6 to confirm they can see you've got a bag coming + the tag number is visible to them.

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

Yes and they applied their policy as per my previous post. Due to the ticket involving the Americas, the piece allowance applies which is 1 piece as you cannot have a ticket involving a weight allowance.

I can't remember when they lost the access... sometime 2023 possibly 2022.

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

See my previous post: The ultimate ticketed destination is MAD which is outside of USA/Canada therefore the US/Canada baggage rules do not apply. This means that each journey will potentially have a different baggage allowance as each journey is assessed for who the most significant marketing...

Oneworld Classic Flight Reward Discussion - The Definitive Thread

All tickets involving Americas travel irrespective of ultimate ticketed destination have the baggage allowance in pieces. That applies worldwide, to every carrier. That said, most if not all airlines spell that out poorly or not at all... QF do mention it but in vague form... Different...
