Why don't governments put up taxes instead of interest rates?

I'd also argue that whilst headline tax rates may be considered high, all the new utes on the road only come from everyone else paying more tax or higher service fees.

Why don't governments put up taxes instead of interest rates?

Income taxes may be high, sales tax (GST) is actually quite low.

Why don't governments put up taxes instead of interest rates?

Because that would require the government of the day to act. Interest rates rises are the RBA's only tool in the absence of government action.

QF A330 long haul in whY

I think they are one of the most under-rated and probably under utilised features of these seats (bring 178cm myself). Stretch your feet right into the net and let the top edge support your calfs.

    Qantas brand badly tarnished

I vaguely thought from previous advertising a few years ago that when Skytrax was running its survey anyone was able to go to their website and submit a survey for a flight. Could be completely wrong on that of course.

    What cheeses me off

They are still quoting 4-6 weeks but AusPost told me they were being processed in about 10 days. I got a message on business day 4 after submission that my passport was on its way back to me.

    What cheeses me off

Not working on my Moto android phone either. Tried it logged in and in incognito mode and dead both ways.

Qantas Project Sunrise goes ahead, 12 new A350-1000s ordered

Isn't that the point though. QF is going after a niche - going from double daily A380s (eg MEL/SYD-LHR) to several times a week flying pencils. Their market is getting smaller as the demand gets bigger.

    Qantas new PE seats

Will those wings be soft enough for headphones to rest against them without insufferable vibration?!

Article: What to Expect Flying QF1 from Sydney to London via Singapore

Isn't that what the lounge is for? Stay in the lounge whilst the queue subsides and then arrive in time to walk straight through and onto the plane.

    JAL Premium Economy from Melbourne

Is there supposed to be a question there?

    Do interline priority bags work?

My experience is it means the priority bags will come out together. Whilst sometimes it can be remarkably efficient, on numerous occasions I've seen all the F bags come out together at the very end.

Current Qantas First Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

That one confused me. Even a lowly WP could have mini steak and chips as standard fare in the past.

Individual seat selection isn't available for this flight - QF J International

You'd need to use the EK website to select your seat.

Qantas Neighbour Free seating: Worth paying for?

Call it what you like, it is a worthy product that QF is obviously choosing to ignore (I know ANZ don't (always?) have J on the aircraft but this is a Y offering (except in Europe)!

Qantas Neighbour Free seating: Worth paying for?

Seems like they show some respect to their customers.

Qantas Neighbour Free seating: Worth paying for?

It's still just another lottery though, except for QF who are monetizing something they hadn't been able to sell anyway but it's another perk that from a customer perspective comes with no guarantees ( may not get offered the seat, may not stick, some chance the seat would have been vacant...

    What cheeses me off

But if you press the link in the BOM app that says km/h next to the Wind heading it switches to knots.

    Collecting QFF points in NZ

QF used to operate under is own brand in NZ, then it made sense to earn and burn points there. They are simply retreating from a market they are no longer targeting. Trying to live in a QF world in NZ is really just on a hiding to nothing.
