Wife and I are treating her mother to a Coffs Harbour holiday later in the year, $239 J seats each way seems a steal.

This has happened on 100% of QF A330 flights I’ve booked in the last two years. Get excited about a nice widebody J seat only for disappointment when the inevitable plane swap occurs. IMO it’s almost a completely different product so the downgrade always hurts.

VA's pricing has had me picking up paid domestic J tickets for the first time (previously it was all awards and upgrades). $299 BNE-MEL is great value, and the SC earn is very helpful in retaining status. Service is on par with QF, and certainly better value overall.

Hopefully an announcement is imminent. All ready to book some flights...

I am looking to book flights in July, presumably at this point the UA partnership will be in full swing. Is it safe to assume that any point/status earn will still apply to flights booked before the final partnership details are announced, or am I better off waiting?

Another transit related question, if I book a multi-city trip with a ~12 hour layover in SIN, can I ask for my luggage to be checked through to the second destination? Hard to find a clear answer on this one on SQ’s website.
