I think it should be at the discretion of the pax in the window seat. I remember flying HEL-SIN on Finnair a few years back, in Y, full flight and my seat's entertainment was not working. FA still made me draw down the shade, twice!

I've been trying to call Etihad to choose my seats on a VA codeshare booking, every time I get through to their call centre it seems to drop out, or I can hear background noise but no agent. Has anyone else had this issue? Do I need to try calling from a landline instead of a mobile?

Just checked my booking, existing VA29/30 now cancelled and I'm tentatively rebooked on an EY flight instead. Downgraded from PE to tight Etihad economy, ugh. Will wait for Virgin to get in touch to confirm these new flights, I suppose.

Went to check award availability for my planned VA29/VA30 flights in June next year, looks like they are now being operated by EY. Unless this is a VA website error (not entirely unlikely), there goes any chance of an upgrade, or even a paid PE seat. :(

Foul, inconsiderate behaviour. I once saw something similar in the VA Y+ cabin - pax had propped up their legs on the armrests of the (empty) seat in front, no shoes. I was mortified, as were a few others in the cabin.

2235 PER-MEL on Sunday offered the "refreshment" - vegetable mornay pie (rather tasty), piece of banana and walnut cake, and a small pack of breath mints. Perfectly fine for a 3 hour flight IMO.

I've done MEL-BNE-LAX in the past on a PE ticket. MEL-BNE leg earned status and points of a flexi Y fare.

They wouldn't let me change OOL-MEL to BNE-MEL, so you'll probably have to front up the cancellation fee (in either $ or points) to change your flight routing.

My favourite "feature" lately has been flights which are available to book on the mobile version of the site but can't be found when logging in from a desktop. Found the available SYD-AUH-FRA flight I wanted (Y+ on the SYD-AUH leg) on mobile no problem, but nothing was available on the regular site.

The back of my card (issued in July) doesn't mention a one month grace period - it has a review date and an expiry date. Perhaps VA have changed the wording to avoid confusion?
