    Qantas First Lounge in Singapore

Certainly with the 'special' wines opened in the SYD and SIN lounges there is a limit, they'll only open a fixed number per day and once gone, that's it. I don't get upset if WPs are getting things that technically only F pax are entitled to. I've used the F lounge plenty of times on routes...

    Qantas First Lounge in Singapore

I wouldn't have such an issue with the QF approach if they actually implemented it correctly and consistently. If you want to have special roped-off dining areas, extra menus and secret decanters of wine for F or P1 pax then actually do a proper job of identifying and welcoming the passengers...

    Qantas First Lounge in Singapore

I'd love to see this. TPR (and similarly Concorde Room) are the perfect way to provide premium service to F passengers. Do the entry checking at the door, and once your guests are inside you can offer everything equally to anyone in the lounge. I've experienced the frustration of flying QF F...

    New CR Availability SYD-SIN June-August 2025

Not sure if this has been posted already, but QF have just swapped QF81/82 from an A330 to an A380 from 16 June to 4 August. As a result there's plenty of classic reward availability on flights during those dates, including at least 2 F seats on most dates I checked.

Strange interest charge after Amex payment

I pay mine by PayID, typically get the notification from the Amex app confirming the deposit within 30 seconds of sending the payment. Sometimes a big payment ($100k or more) takes 2-3 days extra to pass through to the available credit on the account, and requires Amex credit to manually input...

    Avalon Air Show 2025

We flew into the show on Saturday morning, worried whether they'd be doing any flying after the Friday incident. Apparently part of the issue with the late start was that the crash site was close to the pyrotechnics used for the wall of fire, which then had to be disarmed for the ATSB...

Private jets no longer just for the ultra-wealthy (sponsored article in The Australian)

I use a company called Airly who mainly fly Citation Mustangs - 4 seats plus the 2IC seat if you really need to take 5 pax. CBR-SYD costs me about $5500. For random dates this week QF are charging $1255 per head for J on the 737 (if you can get it, as 90% of the flights on that route are...

    Qantas First Class menus

Absolutely agreed - the early days of the NP partnership were great. I was on a QF F flight at least monthly across the late 2000s and early 2010s, and the food and beverage was fantastic. I always looked forward to Dom Perignon on boarding and the tasting menu was always special. I even...

    SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

The crab pasta dish from the lunch menu just had a small sprinkling of caviar on top, if anything the flavour was lost in the spice of the dish itself. Not dissimilar to the lobster egg breakfast dish in the Sydney lounge, which also had caviar on top that didn't really contribute to the...

    SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Just to update on Cristal - 2 bottles loaded SYD - SIN on SQ212 today, plus 2 of the Krug. Not bad for 2 adults in the cabin to get through. The crew isn’t sure what the plans are beyond the current routes, but suggested it might be around for the longer term based on positive customer feedback...

    SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Cristal is only a limited release at this stage, I believe it is rolling through different routes with SYD-SIN one of the routes in the first cycle. MEL might be in a later cycle if they continue with the offer. Yes, TPR is available on arrival from a flight in F / Suites. I'll be there next...

Frequent flyers whose kids have hit gold status

My eldest first made SG at 2, as soon she was no longer a lap infant and we had to pay for her seats (even if she actually sat with one of us for most of the flights). As mentioned it really only takes a few long haul flights in a premium cabin to hit the 600 SC mark and at the time we had...

Denied Entry to QF 1st Lounge Singapore

I've visited that lounge 5 times in the last 6 weeks, 3 on QF F and 2 BA F (when the BA lounge was closed for renovations). There was no difference on any of the 5 occasions I went through - boarding pass checked at the door, I walked down to the dining area, the attendant there directed me to...

Current Qantas First Lounge Menu (SYD/MEL) and relevant topics

Have been through SIN when flying QF F 4x in the last month. The "off menu" offerings must have been very discreet, never had anything special mentioned.

    Qantas First Class menus

It'd have better been Michelin quality to have been worth eating themselves given the complaints that the crew had to endure from some of the less "easy going" passengers when they learned they couldn't have their first choice.

    Qantas First Class menus

No wine list loaded on this flight either so couldn’t post that. They had 2 champagnes, the standard Pommery plus something else unmemorable. Ordered the beef cheek main but none had been loaded on the flight.
