The line you're talking about is the general Business/First/status priority queue at T8. BA/AA operate a premium check in area that is separated for their Business (OWS etc) and First (OWE etc) pax. The First check in area is fully isolated and spits you out right at the TSAPre line.

No, it's not possible to combine award and paid fares in one booking. If you change the paid booking from return to one way then it will be repriced as a one-way fare and likely will cost significantly more than half of the original fare.

Just to give an update on this. My points didn't come through after a couple of days so I logged a missing points request with them. The SCs were credited after a day or two and the ticket was closed, although I didn't get the double SCs that I was due - will have to follow up with them again...
