I did the same route with Aegean last year and was surprised to get a full hot meal (2 choices) on a tray, and multiple drink services. But I agree most of the Euro carriers are even worse than Qantas, a hot snack is more than enough on a 50min MEL-ADL flight anyway, for example.

Strangely although the email says I will be routed through Sydney, QF29 time has changed to 12:45 but still showing direct MEL-HKG.

I am booked on July 20th, just got confirmation I am routing through Sydney due to the operational issues. Looks like QF29 will be suspended through to August at the earliest…

For now the best option seems to be the RJ app, at least for OW bookings. It won't pick up all Amadeus bookings (I have tried adding upcoming A3 flights) but eticket, seat and fare class all come up seamlessly for upcoming QF ticketed flights.
