While I don't disagree, I would like to add that the level of plat/gold service available to me, who pays for and flies with a 5 year old, is actually one of the reasons I really appreciate status in the event of a disruption.
Not in the current conflict, but I've had the pleasure of being on technically a commercial flight out of a disaster zone.
I was offered a tea with sugar. Started sobbing.
I was a tourist. I'd spent the previous week shifting rubble to uncover bodies. I'd worn the same bloody, sweaty and damp...
I have Platinum status via family pooling. I also fly for work, but it's a sole trader situation so I'm paying the $.
My household spend with Virgin is about 12k in the past 13 months.
Family pooling was the only reason I preferenced Virgin. Although I still haven't done my sums, I think it's...
Anyone know why this shows as unticketed in the biz portal? I just resent my itinerary to myself and the ticket attached to the email has a number and says okay to fly.
Is this a common thing, or an error?
Have a 7 day stay coming up in Cairns and I'm a Plus Silver member. (Thanks Amex.)
What are the chances I'll get breakfast at 50% off for two adults, and free breakfast for my small person?
Or am I going to end up with 33% off three breakfasts?
It's extra, but not double.
Velocity earn is $1:5 points, then whatever tier bonuses apply. Business Flyer is $1:1.
Just checked my earn from a recent trip and it's posted correctly at $1:1point.
@Azro Did you spend $51 and $74?
Kind of. A whole lot of points went out, then a whole lot more arrived in my account. I just changed the address and email back to mine and redeemed them for several rewards items.
Then I changed my password.
My question around cancellation & cash refund or transfer to other account - I was trying to figure out how the scam works. If they're not flying themselves or onselling cheap flights, which are both varying levels of traceable and replication at scale - well, what's the pay-off?
I wonder two things:
a) Have you checked your credit reports and everything, to check your whole ID hasn't been nicked?
b) is there any way a points transaction could be cancelled and credited to another account, or somehow refunded in cash?
What about booking the avail 24 hour prior xl rate, which is also the only one I see, but call the hotel and ask them to do a manual chargeback at that time?
It may not work because amex is a third party booking agent, but i'm interested to hear if they allow it!
Refer refer refer!
200k for you (absence makes the points amount grow greater)

Totally hypothetically, if I have two citi cards - say, Rewards and Premier - and I earn 10,000 rewards points on my Rewards card, but also use my Premier to earn 500 points
Am I transferring 10,500 points at 2:1 or 2.5:1 ?
