$0 Custom Upgrade - does it rule out an upgrade at check in?

Hey guys, I've booked a King Hilton Deluxe at the Millennium in BKK and as usual been offered a "Custom Upgrade" - the bottom run option being $0 for a King Deluxe Plus.

My question is; if I availa of this does that preclude being upgraded to something better at check-in?

Also, as a (newly minted) Diamond should I not get upgraded to an Exec room?

I've heard of these $0 offerings popping up, but I've never seen it.

I personally would leave it and hope for a better upgrade at check in.
I never do the Paid upgrade offers, as I can usually get the room I want, and if worst comes to worst most hotels will give you the room you want for the online bid price ( Just take a screenshot) :)

Just leave it. Should get an upgrade anyway.

No one is sure if it stops further upgrades or not, but I get it every stay at Conrad SIN and BKK, but don't bother. Still get decent upgrades.
