10,000 Woolworths rewards points for a travel insurance policy.

I tried several quotes, both domestic and os, but they all only offered 5,000. Maybe Imtoo old? Not worth it for me , but out of curiosity, could you actually buy a policy for the points without actually travelling anywhere?
Yes. You can buy policy without travelling, nothing wrong with that. You also have 0 chance of claiming against it at least without something going very weird.

So normally from an insurers pov, its free money for them. Just in this case they happen to be paying out points too.

I'm now up to 20 x 10,000 points across 4 accounts. 2x points received so far.

With another 3 weeks to run for this promo, I'll be on for a few more.

Can I ask - if you've only received x2 lots of points what makes you confident you'll receive points on the other 18 policies?

T&Cs now state
"Your selected personalised offer only applies to the first policy period unless otherwise specified"

Nothing has changed to the terms of the offer as far as I can see from this earlier post:

If they don't pay out, AFCA is available.

I understand the wording is confusing and conflicting - but I'd also read it as you can only get the offer on the first policy period (despite some others reporting different)

As this deal was pretty widely spread on Ozbargain and they've already 'fixed' the 10k point bonus for everyone - they may decide to not honour someone who has taken out 4-5 policies on each account (and 20 in total).

I also can't see how you'd argue this to AFCA??

Happy to be proven wrong - just interested in your thoughts before signing up to a 2nd one.

First policy period and first policy are not the same.

You also need to read ALL of the terms, hence my link to the other post.

AFCA can help to ensure that the terms of the offer are enforced. A precedent has now been set and all customers must be treated the same.

hence my link to the other post.

I did read that one - and you stated in that post that you were unsure of the T&Cs yourself and eligibility for points to be paid out on multiple policies

But then you proceeded to take out 20 policies - so was just wondering if something changed?

Was the data point having some report getting more that one payout of points? Or more an educated gamble?

Anyway - wasn't wanting to go back and forth - more just seeking clarity on what people are eligible for before buying another policy.

I agree that the terms are somewhat contradictory and ambiguous. On that basis we needed to see how they would be interpreted and applied by Woolworths. It's clear from my and other people's experiences that they will pay out for multiple policies. On that basis, nothing has changed.

Sorry if I've misunderstood your point, but as far as I can tell, they haven't "fixed" the 10K point bonus. I was offered it again only just the other day.

I think what they're suggesting is that despite it being offered, it won't be paid out as you've already gotten a bonus.

I actually am going to AKL on a SC run in two weeks. Bought this policy on Saturday for two days at a cost of $46 for this 65YO.
Travel done, now to wait for points - I did have screenshots of the booking process confirming my points selection.

The conditions on the earlier pages note 'unless otherwise specified'. My non-legal view would be that this additional information is considered the 'otherwise specified' information and I would be relying on this to ensure pay out of the bonus based on 'one time per policy' should that be required.

It may have been "fixed" for those who had not taken out a policy or obtained a quote prior to about 24 Jan as per @VantageXL's post #25.

I had done that and can still generate 10k offers, but my wife didn't and gets only 5k. Seems reasonable to conclude that the offer was fixed at some point, perhaps as a result of Ozb and here. Or, it was simply a targetted offer, with some getting 5k and some getting 10k. Be interesting to know if some got a 10k offer earlier but can only get 5k now

Something strange happening for me.

I've taken out multiple policies under multiple WWR accounts. However only one of those accounts has received any points. The total number of points awarded to that account now equals the number of policies I applied for across all of my WWR account (8 of these) x 10,000 points each.

So I'm not sure if:

1) Woolworths has decided to pay all of the bonus points from all of the policies I applied for across all of my WWR accounts into the one WWR account?

OR

2) Woolworths has paid me multile additional bonus points for one account and not yet paid out on the other accounts?

If it's 1, this is an issue as the account that it's not goign to is close to Points Club Plus and I was intending to use these additional points ot reach this .

If it's 2, I think it best not to contact them as this will draw unwanted attendtion to the situtation.

This happened to anyone else?

Yes, this was noted here: 10,000 Woolworths rewards points for a travel insurance policy.

In any case, this appear moot, as it's clear that they are paying out each time for additional policies.
