I use POLI to pay for cheap fares - the points generated by paying by credit card is not worth the $7.70 IMO.

Try it the other way! I have been looking at BNE-MEL on a Friday night and MEL-BNE on a Sunday night on specific weekends and near impossible to get it under $250.

My booking was for a Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning.

That sale finished at midnight last night, fares Oct 20-Dec 13 were $99 one-way and $91 with the code - booked into S class. I saw availability both ways. These were generally not available at peak times such as Monday mornings, Sunday afternoons/evenings and Friday evenings.

Even thinned out a bit Saturday afternoons.

I note there is a new sale on until the 16th BNE/MEL is again is again $99 (20 Oct - 12 Dec, 29 Jan - 02 Apr, 30 Apr - 25 Jun) and I can still see some of these around, including ex BNE there are plenty of those $181.50 (or $189.20 if paid by CC) fares around.

I would want to make a weekend out of it and play 2 games of golf.

Not many free weekends between now and end of March and I have not been able to find any decent deals on the weekends I have available.

I have even tried out of OOL. I have even tried going to ADL. I even tried NTL but VA wants $150+ to come back Sunday evening. :shock:

Peak flights are overly expensive with all the sales both airlines have been running recently.
