I didn't get the targeted offer. Can anyone clarify whether this is just for Ambassadors (which i've let expire) or IHG Plats (which i am)?

took 3 days for the purchased points to appear in my account but no bonus points. Anyone get their bonus point at the same time? Receipt and email clearly indicated 100% bonus points so I'm not worried. Just a matter of how long before I call them up.

I got it, but wasn't impressed by it.....or more correctly I guess, not impressed by IHG overall. I'm still waiting for status to be worth something before I push for more points.

Status is not worth much apart from free WiFi, Pointsbreaks make the program and holding points worthwhile, pretty hard to argue with a room costing around $35 a night at CP Canberra or HI Port Vila.

Purchased 60k plus bonus and all 120k arrived in my account in about 3 days.

doesn't the 100% purchase promotion make it cheaper than book and cancel method to buy points? how is it cheaper?

Its cheaper to buy when there is a promo but you need to bank them which has a cost, whereas manufacturing can be done at any time and does not hold up funds. When you can collect 30000 points for a $100 stay, both are dearer than staying with the right promos, so needing to buy is rare. Worth having a minimum 5K in your account regardless for when flash sales or point breaks come into play.

I'm probably going to look foolish here (again) but I can't find any updates on this.

I've received the same offer again on the 21/3/2014 and must buy before 21/4/2014.

What update are you looking for, on any given day you can get 10K for USD$70, use that as a benchmark for comparison?

The update I was wondering about was how many AFFers received this newer offer? I must admit to only just reading it and when I checked here on AFF, there doesn't appear to be any mention of the March 2014 offer (which let's be honest, that's not like AFF at all)!

So a saving of about US$150 for a buy of 120000 points. It says a max of 240000 (including the bonus points) can be bought so a possible saving of US$300. Given I'm booking a range of accommodation options right now, this offer may (or may not) be an option worth thinking about. All cards in play !

Did you receive the 100% bonus?

My mystery bonus was 50% so I can purchase 60,000 IHG points + 30,000 bonus IHG points for USD690 via this promotion. I can get those same 90,000 IHG points by booking 9 reward nights and and paying USD70 for each 10,000 IHG points and then cancel the reward booking and the points credit back to your account. I am not convinced people are doing this that often but then again I would not be surprised.

So for me this promotion is not worth it.

If you received the 100% bonus and you need the points then purchasing them via this promotion is worth it.
