I forgot that mum isn't a member. Have got her to sign up, do you know if she prints out her card, can she use that at BP? ie, just entering her card number as opposed to swiping it?
The terminal doesn't have a keypad. Think if you print out card should be ok.

Re: 1,000 Bonus Points for New Velocity Members

I was fortunate enough to receive a 5,000 bonus point per member that 'joins and earns'.

If anyone would like to support an AFF regular, feel free to click my link. Go spend $1 in BP (or more if you want fuel etc), swipe a 'temporary VA' membership card at the register, then link it online via the velocity page. You get 1,000 points, I get 5,000. And, next AFF meet i'll shout you a beer ;)

I have merged three threads on the same topic here into the Referrals forum. Note that the number of points offered seems to vary with some reporting 1000 points and other 5000 points, with earning capped at a maximum of 10 referrals.

Please adhere to the posting rules for the Referrals Forum.

I was going to get my family in Canada to sign up (they are moving back here next year) but I can't see them using BP before the end of June so can't get any points for them. Although... they could send their cards to me and I could swipe them...

If I was getting 5000 points that could be worth it. As it's only 1000 then I won't bother.

I'm sure BP isn't the only option. What about the online mall?

Maybe you could ask them to transfer some money to you so you can buy them some tim-tams in BP and you could swipe a temporary card. You could give them the tim-tams when they next visit and are resident in Australia ;)

Pretty sure the address has to be Australia/NZ anyway*. So set to your address, get their cards and swipe away....

*Well, seems there's a list of countries in the Pacific, but Canada is definitely not one of them.
