Bonuses for transferring Flybuys points to Velocity

I thought I would start a single thread to discuss the bonuses (be it bonus points, entries into a competition, bonus status credits, etc.) offered for transferring Flybuys points to Velocity Frequent Flyer.

The days of regular 15% bonus points offers are over (since Flybuys increased the regular transfer rate by 15%), but there are still regular promos offering incentives to transfer Flybuys points to Velocity. The bonus offered is usually higher if you have Velocity Auto Transfer switched on.

The current offer is entries into a competition to win Flybuys and/or Velocity points for every 1,000 flybuys points transferred until 30 April 2022. If you have Velocity Auto Transfer switched on, you get double entries.

Personally I don't find these kinds of "stand a chance to win" offers very compelling because the odds of actually getting anything are low. I would prefer something like "get 5% bonus points" or "transfer flybuys points to Velocity and get double status credits at Coles this month", but I realise these are more costly to the loyalty programs.

Yeah - these are generally cough offers with little chance of picking up anything, and is very cheap for the both Flybuys and Velocity.

I guess the chance to win a large prize is better than the 'Share X points' which generally offer a poor result for everyone.

I would love to see a 5% (or higher - much higher) offer, and that would probably trigger the transfer - but the current offer will not!

I will have to transfer later this year anyway as I want to use them to purchase flights - so I will have to be happy with the current rate I guess, as there seems little chance of them offering that style of bonus in the near term.

I have 340k Flybuys and I'm in no hurry to redeem. The points will head to SQ anyway, and since Krisflyer miles expire, the longer I leave it the better. I would pull the trigger for 10% to 15% bonus but after two years I am slowly coming to terms with the fact that such an offer will never happen again.

I am getting close to 500k thanks to their algorithm - picked up nearly 220k in the last 6 months - Apple GC's and MyCar tyres helped a lot!

A 10% uplift to transfer would be meaningful therefore!

I am going through a lean patch now though so maybe they are learning. LOL

I've turned on Auto Transfer yesterday for one of the family accounts but they haven't transferred to VFF yet. Can anybody share there experience in how long this should take? I know with Everyday Rewards it is almost instantaneous.

I might be missing something but I thought auto transfer was not the best option as you miss out on future transfer bonus offers.

Any rewards program that offers a spot in a competition for a survey or doing any action I ignore. I'll do a survey if they give me points (like Flybuys do).

I have done that several times. Just make sure you don't turn on auto transfer.

Yes: just transfer manually without turning on auto-transfer. The catch is that you won't get the 2000 plus 4000 points, which (if it's the same as the offer I received a few months ago) is only available to people who turn on auto-transfer and transfer their entire balance.
