Hi all,

Just completed Point Club Plus survey - covers all features of program levels. See picture for highlight though - they're considering ability to transfer membership for Platinum.

Check your email today for survey - it looks like this:

I guess its nice they look at enhancing the program.
This option doesnt feel fully rational unless it also applies to gold.

Did you pick "other": capacity to escalate to competent agent when qantas stuff up my booking? Thats the only perk worth chasing those days.

Interesting and cool. I do think either option would push me to more points earn; current gold access means there's less incentive to hit PC+.

Both those options seem good, but gifting probably the better. It would be nice to actually have the option.

It's actually in QFs interest to gift it. It would incentivise whoever you've gifted it to to fly QF rather than another airline.

Another option that would be good would be a travel credit to the value of QC membership. That will never happen though.

I had a similar survey (only PC, not + yet) and suggested a range of ideas that are probably less likely to happen 😅

I'd absolutely love to be able to gift my QC membership, but I'm sceptical anything will come of these surveys. They've sent a few over the last two years (e.g. the proposed level above PC+ for 800k+) but have made zero changes to the program...

I assume that first option applies to paid QP membership that would be on hold while WP or SG? So, wouldn’t be relevant to LTG or LTP. Now, if they offered to extend your WP status for another year, then that would be interesting! Card churn, here I come! 😀

I have a paid lifetime QP membership which just vanished in a puff of smoke when I reached LTG. I would love to be able to gift that to someone else.

There are reports that people in this situation have been able to get a partial refund from QF.

Got the survey on Friday and had already given them a serve about this issue in the comments in the early part of the survey so was happy to see it come up as a specific question. Fingers crossed they do listen and make a change for Points Club Plus members who are LTG and/or Platinum - and I guess Gold are in the same boat as well

It’s the “Clayton’s” benefit as it stands - the benefit you have when you’re not having a benefit! (Who is old enough to remember that reference?)

For those with lifetime status or lifetime Qantas Club membership, I would like to see Point CLub Plus should either trigger the ability to gift a 1-year Qantas Club membership to an eligible family member (gifting a "friend" may be a little much to expect from Qantas) or a choice of 4 additional Qantas Club lounge passes (which we know can be transferred to other people) or 2 Qantas First Class lounge passes.

If I understand the first option was to extend your Qantas club membership once you loss status. This would be pointless for me as I am lifetime gold so I would never benefit from it. Even gifting won’t be ideal for everyone as they may not have anyone who would use it so again no benefit.

I hope they do implement this because as it stands PC+ offers little, the only benefits of any interest for someone with status are SCs on reward flights, which PC also offers, and (for me at least) 10% off wine. Gifting the QC pass would make it worthwhile. And I hope they allow friends as not everybody has close family members that are still alive.

I was in the situation of reaching the 350,000 points level at the end of May, however my last purchase which would have pushed me over did not hit my account until June 1, so unfortunately I missed out - the fact that I had actually flown internationally with Qantas in the last week of May was not considered. As it happens the QC membership, which would have been nice, but not essential, will probably be paid from the excess of points accumulated during COVIDM as using them on business class flights internationally is problematic until Qantas decides to release more seats.

I really hope it's possible since family is useless for me, but yeah I can imagine they're worried about people selling it.

But noting that you’re PS/QP member, the current arrangement suits you? (Unless you have LTQP?

As an aside, I assume annual paid QP members get their paid component put on hold while they get freebie QP via PC+? (same as SG and above).

Well, I'm trying to get to SG, after which the QP from PCP would no longer be needed.
