Point Club Plus - Sharing of Qantas Club membership under consideration

As a (non lifetime) Gold member, an incentive for me would be x invitations to the First lounge in a calendar year - if travelling on a Qantas flight. Firstly it's aspirational and a special treat for many lower tier status members who don't otherwise have access and secondly it might make people like me consider flying QF metal internationally where we might have otherwise picked another airline. This way the benefit also applies even if flying J. But this solution still doesn't answer the question "what's in it for the platinums and the P1s?"

I would imagine F Lounge invitations are also attractive to WPs and P1 - to either bring a larger group into the lounge when travelling together, or to gift to close friends & family. Given Qantas already "sells" F Lounge passes as part of the Qantas Money Titanium card I think this is a realistic possibility.

Excellent idea, suspect a high proportion of PCP members are SG or higher. Always felt a bit meh - “hey there SG/WP, good work for hitting PCP, here’s access to the QP, which you already had access to, aren’t we generous and rewarding”

To be far, PC was about rewarding frequent spenders who aren't necessarily frequent flyers. There are lot of small business owners etc that can rack up quite a haul of QFF points (that help QFs bottom line). Gratis QP membership for someone who does fly a little but would otherwise be NB or PS is worth attaining.

There are obviously a few of us here who already have lounge access, so yeah PC+ is a bit meh and generally not worth going out your way chasing it (which is a lost opportunity for QF). But as others have said, QF appear to recognise that ven diagram is possibly larger than they first thought, so good that they're thinking about it. Hopefully if they do enhance the program for the better, they scale the options based on status ie F Lounge passes for SG/LTG seem sensible, but might have varying usefulness for existing WPs etc.

Curious if anyone got the survey and who are already WP and better still, have LTG - where the same options proposed?

Its a tricky one. I'm points club plus. I'm also WP off the back off pre-covid status runs and will be able to maintain it until Jul 2023. From that point, I don't see the value so much given that I can easily get points club plus. Given that Mrs AussiePom and I can cycle enough CC per year to get a return J trip to europe once a year the only real value in retaining WP for us is being able to use Flounge and a bit less pain in redemptions / call center. I would love to see ways in which PC+ could give me access to FLounge when I inevitably return to Gold - which I suspect I'll quite easily retain.

Also, as many of us are Lifetime Gold, the extension is also useless. Being able to gift is a better option.

So they never really changed anything then? And the gifting of the QFClub membership to another QFF when reaching points club plus was presumably never set up?

No. So far nothing’s changed.
