Was never going to go back to an A380 with the 100 seat block in economy given the demand for flights right nowShame it wasn't QF7/8
With that being said, what does surprise me is why QF chose JNB for the A380. It doesn't seem to warrant such a jet given its flight length.

@justinbrett You beat me to it! In fact, I expect they’ll do a more efficient route flying further south? Loved the views of Antartica on the B747 to/from JNB, EZE and SCL at various times.Why? It's a perfect length - similar to SIN-LHR. And having four engines means they don't have to worry about ETOPS.

Well, at least 1st seats. They used have the old B747 1st cabin on the various JNB/EZE/SCL routes but 1st not sold (but WP could select those seats).Presumably this will mean First Class becomes available to South Africa. Flights are due to go on sale tomorrow.

Qantas has announced that it will put an Airbus A380 onto the Sydney-Johannesburg route from July 2024.
Presumably this will mean First Class becomes available to South Africa. Flights are due to go on sale tomorrow.
Time to re-introduce Perth to Johannesburg.
