As tempting as this is I'm not going to bite. I've retained gold which is the VA sweet spot.

The flights usually taking me to VA platinum should get me over the line with QF platinum!

I am currently 43 SCs short of Platinum

- Fly with daughter Friday this week and earn 30 SCs
- Saturday 60 SCs expire
- Fly with daughter Sunday this week and earn 30 SCs

So still 43 SCs short but close to 300 SCs expiring between Nov-Jan and only have 210 SCs planned so I think best to strike this weekend with Saturday pretty much free.

Book SYD-OOL return on choice fare and that should earn 60 SCs with double SCs?

Yes indeed. I did this with the previous double SC promo.

Unfortunately, this new promo does nothing for me, as I've already got a 440 SC trip coming up under the previous promo, and I really can't use a whole heap more SC's as I will already have re-qualified for Plat.

VA must be getting desperate to increase the number of Plats for some reason.

When I first heard of this one I was hoping for at least a fly by date of March or June 2024. I already booked my flights to the end of the year with the last one. I'll still activate it tomorrow - just in case.

I agree , this one has restrictive dates ; most of us have our tickets booked well in advance and only a few of us have the flexibility to cancel/rebook… wish the travel by date was atleast Mar2024.

Weirdly enough I never get VA promotional emails any more. They stopped in 2020. I've checked my profile and it's ticked to receive them. But I've unchecked, saved and re-checked and still haven't got any. I've been on the line with CS on another matter and reported it as well and they gave me some reason but said they'd fix it. But I still haven't received a V-mail since 2020.

Perfectly timed for me, as I want to organise my November travel - CBR, SYD and ADL definitely. Was thinking of putting CBR and SYD trips together, but now it'll be separate trips

And then industrial action is foreshadowed before Christmas. That news has put me right off booking.
