13 sectors and 1230 SC but still gold?

So my declaration of WP may have been premature. Recently took a couple of trips which put me way over the required 1000 SCs and 8 sectors. SCs and sectors have been credited at leaving me with 13 sectors and 1230 SCs. Miles credited with gold bonus rates for my last post 1000SC flight.

Rang VA line who told me they don't understand why my status isnt upgraded but would look into it.

Im a bit surprised as my last qualification for WP and my previous re qualifications for gold all registered simultaneously with the SCs.

Anyone any idead on what is going on?

Who knows what the heck is going on in the VA office because they are now gifting Gold status to Red flyers who have flown twice in about 10mths.(SYD>OOL>SYD)

My bosses wife, who is Red, got an email over the weekend giving her Gold.

Bit of a slap in the face to those that work hard to keep their status and my boss, who's about to drop from Gold to Silver, isn't happy either.

I don't know about levelling up, but I would have expected that to take a couple of weeks.

However, when it comes to retain the excessive account review after the end of your review date is widely criticised around here. Based on all those comments I doubt that your retain/re-qualification has been registered immediately on getting the status credits.

My recent experience was email about 4 days after qualifying and card, luggage tags a couple of weeks later. First flight after obtaining Plat details were on boarding pass.

My experience progressing from Red to WP recently found, on each occasion, it took about 36 hours from when the SC credited to my account to when my status changed. I assume that a few days have passed in the case of the OP........

It did come eventually, a wee bit longer than 36 hours. Just odd that the system doesn't handle these things automatically.

I think Virgin have had a few mainframe problems the last few weeks (eg the couples flying together problem and only 1/2 SCs and points coming through). Might be a big backlog.
