He will Mark.

I think you have misread his post.

The travel zoo rate goes through Hilton.com, hence the question as to why it would not earn points? Do hilton play the silly locally negotiated rates game like IHG when it comes to stays being non eligible?

My guess is it will earn points and the person you talked to doesn't know what they are on about. But it's your choice...

I'm currently staying at the HSP and was speaking to the Exec lounge manager - she confirms that the rate is a new partnership and says its been quite popular. Since your booking through hilton.com you get benefits/points..etc

Yep the email the rep sent me says I won't be able to get points. So I will gamble and book through the Hilton website using the code that Markis provided and hope for the bet. Not end of the world as I get exec lounge access and carpark and Internet and according to the rep with my HH gold I can have brekky at salt grill.

Just to confirm you are referring to the travel zoo deal?

Thanks. How's the food at the exec lounge during the day and evening?

During the day...basically nothing. At night, let me just say I wouldn't visit HSP for the exec. Lounge food offering.

Thanks. Maybe I will drop by for some small canapés for my 2.5 year old...

Just a question, I am looking to book for 2 adults and one 2.5 year old.
I don't see availability when I book as 2 adults an 1 child. But if I do 1 adult and 1 child there is, or if I do 2 adults and 0 child there are availability.

Should I just book for 1 adult and 1 child and have the spouse stay free using my HH Gold? Or book 2 adults and the child is free.

Thanks,
K.

^^^ This!

The deal is "spouse stays free" and that's what I use. I've never had an issue when I book for 1A,1C with the text in the booking saying "status benefit, spouse stays free. Total occupancy 2A, 1C". Usually get full breakfast for all as well.

Is Hilton's policy such that child stays free if sharing room with an adult? I.e I could book 2 adults and have my child staying free with us??

You can always compare the room rate with various combinations, there may or may not be additional charges for a child.

Thanks. The rate is the same either with 2 adults or 1 adult and 1 child. The issue I'm having is if I put 2 adults and 1 child it says no availability. So looks like I need to book either 2 adults or 1 adult and 1 child and then later email or call hilton to let them know... What do you think is best to do in this situation?

Yes it is!

You and I are slightly different. I have two adults and two kids (usually), and the Hilton booking engine allows 2 kids(usually) (hence "spouse stays free" being the better option. Most Hilton hotels won't take 2A+2C for the same rate as a single).

If you're planning on upgrading your family in the future, it may be wise to get in the habit early.

I've received a big fat 0 points, no stay or night credit either. Will be making a call, as I was informed it would since its booked through hilton.com

Please report back. Also when did you stay using this offer? I hope I get the points come my September stay!
