Does anyone know if Krisflyer Gold will have a soft landing to Krisflyer Silver after 12 months? Or it will go straight back down to base level? I am trying to determine if I should aim for Gold Elite or not (I'm already KF Silver) as that would possibly mean 2 years of 12 months paid extension of miles.

Note that you can only extend each mile once - I think.

It's a soft landing to Silver after 12 months.

on the 14th

DATA POINT: Ok my StGeorge points have now arrived in both my account and my wife's. Sometime after 6PM AEST Monday 15th. Transfer started on Sunday 14th afternoon. I checked multiple times today and was not showing earlier.

However in our Krisflyer account's in both cases it is shown as arriving on the 14th.

My Status has now changed to Silver, though presumably will soon change to Gold as is above the 50K mark required.

Update. Yes email arrived at 7AM this morning to advise that I am now Gold. So the day after the points appeared online.

Note that for myself, that the extra15% bonus points earnt now is more valuable to me than delaying achieving Gold Status to Feb.
Internationally I fly J/F (always redemptions) and so gain the bulk of the benefits anyway due to the class booked.

The main benefit of being Gold/Silver for my wife and I is that we both have some points due to expire mid 2022 in two different months, and this will provide an extra 6 months life for free. (12 months if paid).

It must be the primary account holder. See page 8 here -

Also, see note below on the Amplify credit card pages of the St George website;

To my surprise, they actually went through, but this makes more nervous. I am tempted to call up SQ and let them know of my error. Would that be the wise thing to do to avoid issues with future reward bookings?

Why?

repeat after me: never call an airline to alert them about what you perceive as a potential issue, never! 😊

if the points hit the account, then they’ve hit the account (and you can go on your merry way). If they don’t, they’ll (eventually) go back to StG (and you’ll chalk that up as a lesson). Calling the airline achieves nothing.

This could get very messy. I‘ve heard of issues and a google show things like this

Thanks for sharing.

This one looks slightly different as the poster transferred to a KF account where the account name against the number was not correct.

I transferred 400000 Amex points at 2100 on Saturday night. read my emails at 0900 today and my welcome email to elite silver was there.
So this morning I got an email from Amex saying they had received my request to transfer points to SQ and they will let me know in 5-7 business days if it has been successful.
Sounds like the latest recruits for their IT team are straight from QF. o_O

I transferred ANZ and they said several business days but it was immediate, I transferred some Westpac Attitude points and again, they said five business days and it was 24 hours.

Amex have it would seem brought in a new format (ie I have never seen this particular email before) and I have received it for both my recent transfers minutes apart despite the transactions being days apart. My wife also got the same.

So I think that they have just sent the new format out to all recent transfers at once (ie bulk emails are normally staggered slightly).

I transferred from StG and the confirmation screen said 5 days (I vaguely recall). It took 1 business day.

Is 15% bonus the largest amount Krisflyer has done? Or have they done higher bonus in the past?

Is 15% bonus the largest amount Krisflyer has done? Or have they done higher bonus in the past?

This and the last one, both made during the pandemic, are the only 15% offers I can recall.

They have made 10% previously, but this has been rare.

Before the Velocity to Krisflyer path was devalued (and at least for now ceased) on occasions there were transfer bonus rates to Velocity deals that achieved more points than if you transferred to Krisflyer direct. And I took advantage of that a few times.

So if I did another transfer and get gold now then a further transfer a couple of days later that would satisfy the 50000 elite miles within 12 months to give me gold until November 2023.

Well that is what I am hoping. It reads like it should, but proof will be in the pudding. Though to me it will be a nice extra benefit rather than the main prize.

Caveat emptor.
