Though from the experience of many here you really earn the SCs when applying for the Virgin CC.
Beat me to the punch straitman - I will prolly take up this offer and transfer 100K pts - add 30% and it's pretty good bonus.

Those Plats who took up Virgin Flyer card already got 200SC's + another 100 here - jeez you a long way up road to attaining Plat without your cough in VA seat once.

I have VA redemption MEL-LAX ret Sept this year in J 188K pts + $650

Was going to send ALL pts to KF going fwd - SQ F MEL-SIN-LAX ret now I think 238K pts plus taxes which I not sure of - decisions decisions

Any idea what happens to the status credits and points if you have family pooling set up? I'd actually like to do the transfer if the SCs could flow through family pooling to my wife...

If you have FP'd then SCs will go to your wife along with points

Yep, perfect time for me to drain my CBA balance (again). Pretty much the best option out of every redemption possibility with CBA.

How long does it normally take for AMEX points to show up in Velocity after such a transfer?

IME, within 24 hours - between 11am and 3pm (next working day?).

I had the Velocity email just land in my inbox and had a quick look at the T&C's and it now says minimum 2000 points.

See here: https://www.velocityrewards.com.au/...ership-rewards-terms-and-conditions/index.htm

2,000 points is the minimum for the 30% bonus, the 100 SCs offer requires 100,000 points:
" To be eligible for the 100 Status Credits with Velocity Frequent Flyer, you must transfer a minimum of 100,000 Membership Rewards points in one lump sum amount. "

I think there was a mistake first up which has been rectified.

AFAICR, the initial published T&C's implied a minimum of 100K was required to qualify for the 15% with MR. It appears this was just for the SC bonus and the T&C's have now been fixed.

Velocity have a 48 hour hold on points posting, they tend to post at 0000 UTC (11AM AEDST) the second day after the activity date in my experience regardless of it being flights/car hire or credit card, some shopping activities are held for 30 days such as Westfield.

Or in some cases.. an infinite amount of time (I am looking at you Hertz)

The bonus gets worse every year. Two years ago I transferred points for a 50% bonus, last year it was 20%, now 15%. I suggest you take advantage as next time it will be 5%.

Shame I transferred everything already the 100SC's is extremely inviting and would have easily convinced me to transfer this time around.

Transfer your credit or charge card points latest offer from Velocity FF

A recent email from Velocity FF offers.

Transfer your credit or charge card points from participating bank partners to your Velocity Account by 31 March 2012 and receive 15% bonus Velocity Points.

Is this worth considering.

Transferred points from CBA to Velocity. They were there within 24 hours - and that was even after transferring them after hours on a Friday night.
