Only AA numbers will work.

As an AA check-in staffer said to me last year (when seeing my routing and nearly keeling over).

"It's all about the miles".

(BTW, a later AA staffer actually hadn't seen an itin like mine, they claimed. It was a simple 4 leg trip from one city to another )
