Yeah, I read it has “merge”. I thought “linking” was pretty benign. Just a file note. No protection whatsoever on seperate bookings unless the airline wants to play nice.

Yes, hence my question. I was pondering why you thought it would stuff up one booking or the other?

OT, but you can easily book a return trip points one way and $$$ the other but I can’t recall seeing someone successfully merging seperate points and pay tickets. Even when QF delayed the restart of SFO and I had a return CR booked, they had to pay for a seperate LAX-SFO J ticket and weren’t able to reticket as one trip (points SYD-LAX pay LAX-SFO), so technically unprotected…

Well, WCMO (as mentioned up thread), couldn’t DIY a reward booking on VA to fly SQ intra Asia.

Resorted to calling. Agent managed to stuff up my first name and other PAX details. Called back immediately but resulted in cancelling the entire booking and rebooking…
