Hi see another thead. Try changing the address in your credit card to not include a unit number and set post code to 9021

If needing the points, this is OK. But I wouldn't say it's exceptionally good value, unless wanting for specific expensive properties, or some good points + pay options. For example that gets you Sydney Hilton for ~$300 AUD or London Hilton for £290. Going rates.

Plus you forgo some miles and hh points for the booking. I booked a hotel in Dubrovnik on it where they wanted 44 EUR per person. Buying the points should save about 90 as.booking for 3 people

Am I right in that paying with an Amex-issued Amex as advertised will get a 10% discount, making the price for 150,000 HHonors points at USD$742.50?

Also as I am not an active user of HHonors programme, how much is 150k points actually worth?

Is that really all? Wow!

Cannot be that expensive, since I booked King Hilton room at Hilton Tokyo at 20590yen per night, and is cancellable up to day of arrival.

60000 HH points per night, so for 150000 HH points it is only 2.5 nights in this hotel.

OT, the TOKYO 3 NIGHTS stay offer is pretty good especially you can cancel up to day of arrival!

how much is 150k points actually worth?

DoubleTree Kuala Lumpur is US$110 advance purchase rate.

15 nights at 10,000 points = US$1650 value for 150,000 points.

37 nights at 4,000 points + US$34 = US$2800 value for 150,000 points.

10,000 HH points per night at DoubleTree KL seems a very good deal! (but something of the exception, not the norm - not many cat 2 properties in Asia Pacific. :( )

My need for Tokyo is over Easter where the cheapest Flexible rate is averaging over ¥34,000. (Adv Purchase ~¥32,000)

YMMV and these days it's getting much harder to find HH points value at ¾¢ or more, but they are out there.
