Great TR,

So wish I could stumble upon some mistake airfares!!!!!

Raratonga is one of my bucket list destinations - not sure why, but every time I see travel shows featuring the place, it just seems to fit the exact stereotype of "tropical island" I have (moreso than any of the other South Pacific destinations, that are no doubt just as tropical, and island-y! ). Something about the way the clouds hang in the sky.... *swoon*

Seriously envious of you to getting there for a bargain price!

It exactly is a tropical island!! You can sit on the beach and watch the clouds then proceed to swim and snorkel ;) I’d say go and enjoy Raro for a couple of days if manageable! :)

Excellent trip report but please do something about the text size, font and quad it left, its hard to read.

Went to Rarotonga many years ago, a third world country with fantastic helpful locals and beautiful beaches, the Rarotonga hotel was 4/5 star we had a great time, left day before massive cyclone hit and near wiped out the island.

Thank you Limewood, I’ll ensure to adjust the fonts with my next TR! :)

We were blessed with 98% fantastic weather while on the island although april is a bit of a hit and miss as the weather is changing!

Pretty sure it is the same fare and reason for flying for dzinh, prozac. From memory his trip was April/May 2013. Only fools or status runners will fly there for a one night stay!

Sorry Prozac about not responding about how i got the fare and thank you Carwashhair for explaining! We didn’t have a lot of time on our hands at the time to spend on the island but it did give us an insight of what to expect when we will return next year!

My advice would be minimum 2 days in Raro and maybe not longer than a week! :)

Great TR,

Simo, it was a whirlwind when the fares were available, i quickly cheked our schedule and booked away! Mistake fares do come up here and there but you need to be pro active online and on forums and book straight away! :)
