>Speaking as an Accountant something which allows you to obtain something else at a discount is not generally referred to as being "worthless".
Worthless to me love. Bit like a MacDonalds voucher for a vegeterian ... (get the point ? )
>Also speaking as an Accoiuntant, i am really OVER hearing people lament the demise of a company that went under largely as a direct result of its largesse.
Umm.. I am not lamenting the demise of Ansett .. just the pricing for my so called "Free" ticket. I do lament the fact that since they have gone my costs for a so called free ticket have gone up. BTW we lost 174k in Ansett points and we didn't lose much sleep over it ..
>I am sorry that Qantas values its continued operation as a business above your ability to appear as a generous benefactor to your "dirt poor" relatives at its expense.
Good for you. But what I am sorry about is the changes to what I considered a good FF scheme. Now I don't think I have to be an Accountant (thank god I am not) to see that the Rewards program has become a watered down version of what it was. So I will feel free to critisise it if I feel like it............ if thats ok with you ?
>It really shows your generous nature that you are not prepared to assist people significantly worse off than yourself unless it costs you nothing. How could I have been so misguided to refer to you as a tightarse?
Here's a thought - offer the points to the relos on the proviso that they pay the fees themselves. That way you only have to give away something you got for free that you don't want yourself, and then no-one can mistake you for being genuinely generous.
Obviously your nasty little mind works like this .. mine does not .. I would like to give my points away for free to someone who I think needs them.
The relatives indeed know that we used to get the tickets more or less for free and we have in the past paid the taxes ourselves, so as for "appearing" generous umm.. well thats not the intention and its a bit hard to do so when they know your getting them free (past tense) anyway.
As hard as it may be for you to understand, it's to make peoples lives a little brighter not to enhance our "reputations" in the family. Now I should put my hand in my pocket you say. My answer is just how the hell would you know if we do or we don't ?
Please put your brain in gear before your next post.
