Zone F ... Meh ...

I'd go fo 4E any day - maybe they'll sub for a four class and then 4E is a lay flat First Class seat ... ;)

Mrs Lime and self next month doing BNE/LAX seated 15J/15K then DFW/BNE 14A/14B.

Note that the 16A/B referred to here are the upper deck exit row seats on the 4 class 744.

In the 3 class 744ERs, Row 14 are the exit seats.

One of the 747 (non ER) 3 class configs still has Row 16 as an exit row....just to keep things confusing!!!

The references here could also refer to the 3 class 744 that still has row 16 as an exit row. ;)
Not in relation to my post - I was specific.

Yes, 16A/B is still the upperdeck exit row on many 2, 3 & 4 class 744.

Check the 744 seat map of your flight - if there's no row 5 then row 16 is an exit row.

When do the row 16 seats become available for allocation in the seat selection of the booking?
Or are they available anytime? - reason I ask is I'm flying J on 12 Aug on a 747 and have been able to allocate 16A but I notice 16B-D remain unallocated - if they're so good how come others haven't grabbed them? Is it because I am SG that I'm able to select them at this point?

Not many people realise how good these seats are and you have to be at least SG to be able to select them. I have 16A on the 16nd of August as well with nobody in B but someone in J and not K...

I have had some good chats with the crew seated in front of me prior to take off and landing, really like these seats.

I'm travelling to Singapore in J on this QF aircraft http://www.qantas.com.au/infodetail/flying/inTheAir/ourAircraft/744ER-58J36W270Y.pdf

I reserved seats 16JK, the rest of the upper deck is either taken or blocked. Are these goods seats? There's plenty of seats downstairs if anyone can recommend a better option to what I've booked. Thanks!

As mentioned above the A side in row 16 has more of a view outside and better access to the side storage. I prefer the secluded feeling of the Upper Deck and personally I will choose pretty much any seat upstairs compared to downstairs

*EDIT*

Sorry completely looked at the wrong seat map for your flights. At T-80 you should be able to select more forward seats than row 16. I am not a huge fan of the last row because you are last to be served. On the other hand you are faster downstairs when arriving in SIN

I'm the opposite - give me Zone A or Zone B before most zone F seat ... more room to store stuff and quicker exit for a start.

OEB came into PER today, so a nice change from the usual OJD.

For those employing Serfty's tactic, an F seat was your reward.
