I don't believe Business passengers need to pay to have an exit row pre-allocated.

A WP can call Qantas premium and ask for a request for the seat to be made to "seating".

Yes - that's why I did. No hint of asking for an additional fee.

16A for sure. I love a window seat at all times. Room in and on the storage bins for stuff. That, combined with room to get out of my seat at yuck o'clock and not meander myself over the person next to me.

I enjoy the upper deck mainly due to fewer pax wandering around it feels quieter. I was lucky enough to be asked to move from 11A which I also like to 16A to keep a late booking/checkin family together. Government people ex BRU. We really have to look after them of course. Book at the last minute for who knows what price.

The extra bonus was the person in 16B met some babe in the lounge who had a spare seat beside her and he made a beeline and went there for the flight.

However I've had to battle my way out of the stairway with the Y pax but it's a minor problem when you consider the wait at most airports for immigration.

I have noticed 23d is also blocked as well on more often than not, assuring it's status!

Prefer LD these days, after spending about 50 flights in 11k for SQ, as my permanent seat in profile.

Anything UD.

Haven't tried 23 though; what is so goof about this seat?

As for upper deck vibrating floor, I have never experienced this and I always fly UD. Can someone explain?

Upper deck ... meh .. been there done that; give me the comfort and convenience (and luggage storage) of 23D/F any day ...

... and they don't always hold back economy PAX for upper deck disembarkation ...
