I am about to move up to Voyager status in this program. Are there any members out there who have achieved this level and think it is particularly worthwhile? The majority of my stays are at The Langham in Auckland.

Only ever had the basic entry level with 1865. Little info on FT regarding the program.
I'm guessing that Voyager is better than no status but IMHO the service at the Langham's I've stayed at (London, LP HK and Melbourne) would be pretty hard to beat

Thanks for your reply.
Yes totally agree - have also done LP HK and Melbourne recently and thought the service was great , but the Langham in Auckland has the best executive lounge.

I use the Langham in Melb & Auckland.
Both are well priced and the service I find is excellent.
I tend to get room upgrades ie in Melb I book entry level non-river view and I tend to get River View rooms.
Plus the additional welcome ammenity is nice. So I get (in Mel):
* fresh fruit
* two 500ml bottles (glass) of sparking mineral water
* Bottle of red (which is always very drinkable)
But each hotel seems to vary it slightly.

Plus you get the option of international news papers on top of the local rag. They do like QFi do in J & F and print them out on normal paper.

I also like the late check out option to 6pm and have never had an issue when I access it.

Then every year I tend to get 2 suite upgrade vouchers - 1 for requalification of status and the other for doing a yearly survey which takes about 2 mins online.

Qantas points are also awarded but it is a dollar to point conversion vs a flat amount of points.

Personally I like the Langham hotels.

I'm a Voyager member, I mostly stay in HK. I get an upgrade almost every stay, sometimes 3-4 classes higher than booked. In terms of service as others have said it's hard to beat the regular service that everyone gets.

Any other guest experiences from staying in mel or syd locations as a Voyager? Do you get club access in Mel?

Voyagers don't get club access unless you book a club room.

Stayed at SYD in OCT, no room upgrade and fairly standard welcome aminties. The white wine was 375ml.

i tend to find HK properties look after voyager members better.

Stayed at MEL earlier this year but I was not a voyager member. So can not commont on the club access.

i was upgraded to a Club room at one of the HK properties. Was told no club access as I booked a standard room.

Club access is not part of the 1865 benefits.

As a voyager member I can confirm that Langham Auckland will put you on what they call the club floors as an "upgrade benefit" but will ABSOLUTELY not give you access to the lounge unless you book a room with club lounge access. This detracts somewhat from their loyalty program in my opinion.
Recently (November) stayed in both Hong Kong properties and other than the welcome amenities and welcome note did not receive an upgrade in either hotel.Having said that the accommodation and club lounges in both hotels are superb.

I`ve always wondered how you can deny someone club access when they get upgraded to a club room as i thought the "club" part of the name was about getting entry to the "club" and without that it`s just basically a normal room... delxue or whatever.

indeed, but club rooms tend to be located at higher floors such as "club floor".

at many properties, it is common to have check-in agents upsell the lounge access to guest without actually staying at a suit/or club room.

I have encountered " fake "upgrades in numerous hotel chains, it doesn't encourage loyalty and I told the Langham Auckland 1865 concierge what I though of their practice in this regard. I would like to see it spelt out in their statement of benefits associated with the various membership tiers. As it stands it is ambiguous at best.
