1865 loyalty program (Langham hotels)

I have encountered " fake "upgrades in numerous hotel chains, it doesn't encourage loyalty and I told the Langham Auckland 1865 concierge what I though of their practice in this regard. I would like to see it spelt out in their statement of benefits associated with the various membership tiers. As it stands it is ambiguous at best.
Yeah I`ve always believed whether this is incorrect or not that if you get upgraded to a room that has published benefits like club lounge access that you should get that too.

Hi. I'm going to be staying at the Langham in Sydney in July and was wondering whether there are any kick starts to getting up the 1865 ladder? I've never stayed at a Langham property before so would be entering the 1865 programme at the bottom.

TIA.

Thanks. I had found those from previous posts here, however I don't have any of those cards and after a couple of attempts I made to enter the 'correct' 9 digits failed, I just signed up at the base level.

On the 9 digits... Google is your friend...

T&Cs actually require the Visa Infinite card to be presented at check-in in order to take advantage of the benefits, so even if I could convert my account it wouldn't work for me and I'd probably end up with egg on my face! I'll just do it the hard way :).

Yes - this is true... I actually have a Visa Signature, and so was not such a concern for mine. I think the odds of being asked to present or pay using a specific card once you have the membership are low... but still could happen. A comment to say you no longer have that particular account if it did should avoid the egg sticking. Unless you have stays already that you desperately want to merge with the Voyager account, I wouldn't bother trying to merge - just use the higher status account.
