By 'premium business' you are are not referring to business class market only are you?

I travel economy and will not travel JQ in this lifetime....

I’m referring to business as a job not a product, so anything above economy only I suppose.

Your choice to travel any other carrier but Jetstar if Qantas shut up shop wouldn’t make much of a difference in economy. But the many who travel in premium classes above economy, and the many who rely on good customer service and recognition in economy and above, all moving to a carrier that can offer than, would put a big dent in their bottom line.

They’re at 65% now? They could stay there with JQ services only, but I’m sure their profits would be way down and Virgins would be way up as a result of one of them ditching premium cabins and service and the other embracing it. So I can’t see Qantas ever being that foolish, but they are making some odd choices, which might eventually come back to bite them.

I’m off topic, so I’ll let this thread get back to the issue.

1. So where does the future of QF International lay ? More deferred A380's so they can buy the A320's for Jetstar......
2. Qantas domestic, where are the orders for new 738's they are still flying 734's and will be for quite a while
3. Why does QF continue to reduce routes and move them to JQ ?

There are enough 738's on order to replace the 734's. The last 738 was delivered on Anzac Day. The next three have been assigned line numbers at Boeing, and have had registrations reserved for them.
