*To be eligible for the 2,000 bonus Velocity Points promotion ( Offer ), Velocity members must (1) Activate the Offer through the activation link, via the Velocity Frequent Flyer app or via www.velocityfrequentflyer.com within the member dashboard under 'Activated Offers' between 12.01am AEST 21 August 2024 and 11.59pm AEST 29 August 2024 inclusive (Promotion Period); (2) after offer activation, book an Eligible Flight during the Promotion Period and enter your valid Velocity membership number to your booking prior to travel; and (3) complete travel on the Eligible Flight booked during the Promotion Period, by 11:59pm AEST 17 July 2025. Velocity members can book Eligible Flights as one-way or return. A return flight booking would be considered as two Eligible Flights, and Velocity members would receive 4,000 bonus Points. An Eligible Flight which has a connection (e.g. MEL – SYD – BNE) would be considered two Eligible Flights and 4,000 Bonus Points would be allocated for this booking. Points earned through this Offer are in addition to the standard Points earn for a flight of 5 Velocity Points per $1 of eligible spend. Silver, Gold and Platinum members will earn their tier bonus Velocity Points separately. Where multiple guests are listed on the same booking, only those guests who satisfy the above Offer criteria are eligible for this Offer. You should allow up to 4 weeks after satisfying the Offer criteria for the bonus Velocity Points to be allocated. Velocity membership Terms and Conditions apply.

VA is really trying to pump up those forward bookings. Not really a surprise but just shows that demand across the board is continuing to be soft.

I wonder if anyone can think of the cheapest multi stop route to earn points 😂 , cheapest I can think of is OOL-SYD-MEL for $169.

As VA Plat this gets 1690 regular points + 4000 bonus points meaning 5690 points earned for $169 or as a round trip 11,380 points for $338 (2.97c per point).

Given they sell 11,000 points for $353 could this be the new points run ;).

And after years of trying, I still do not get these marketing emails from Virgin.
Really silly question but is your email 100% correct with Virgin, something happened to mine recently and I'd noticed I'd stopped getting booking emails when logged in, turns out my email ended in @outlok.com (who knows how long it had been like that).

You can sign up to vmail here for the flight deals:

and under velocity my preferences (based on the email in velocity account details):

Perfect timing, as VA has adjusted their prices to match JQ sale. I was planning to book QF to take advantage of my QC from my PC+. But the price difference is just too big to ignore given that I just booked VA SYD-ADL return for less than the price of QF one-way.

Just received another bonus points offer.

I was looking at ADL - MEL flights last night but didn’t book. Received an email this morning offering double points on my “next eligible booked flight”.

The email quoted the ADL - MEL flights I was looking at but looking at the terms and conditions I’m pretty sure I can earn double points on my next flight booked regardless of route…

I got the same...after looking for MEL - OOL flights.

VA don’t have the pricing power in the market. If VAs program looks radically worse than QFF there will be an exodus of points earning credit cards out of Velocity. They need to keep their points tables broadly in line with QFF from a value perspective.

Just following up on this. The double points offer for booking the “next eligible flight” is hilariously credited as “Abandon Cart Double Points Offer”. Not even attempting to hide the point of the promotion!

Pretty happy with the flight with that bonus, the WP bonus and the 2,000 points bonus… IMG_3500.jpeg
