Hi

I just wanted to share my experience today with trying to organise two for one today with my Virgin Money Platinum Card. I wanted to organise for my spouse and children to fly to DRW-BNE, while I fly CBR-BNE. Apparently I have to be one of the two people. Is this right?

It seems a bit arbitrary, and counter the two-for-one mantra. Caveat emptor, or did I just get the wrong person on the line when trying to book.

Yes ... you need to travel

Exclusive reduced flights offer when you and a friend travel together on Virgin Australia domestic Saver fares up to 4 times a year

Just called the call centre, and asked if we were on the same PNR, but flying on different flights, if this would work. Answer is still no. :(

They are pretty strict about it.. Sadly unless your wife got a card too you're out of luck..

She's Platinum thanks to pooling and status matching. I'm throwing everything at her so she can gift me gold - and I'm doing all the travelling. She ends up flying Qantas most of the time for work.

So I have learned. As I said at the start of the thread cautioning myself, caveat emptor.

Personally, I think even their new terminology "fly together and save" can be seen as false advertising, as in recent times, it has been predominantly more expensive to use this benefit than just go and buy two sale fares! Caveat emptor is so true with this so called benefit!
