As mentioned above, this is not unusual when you are waitlisted for a flight. In order to waitlist, the TA has to book you on an alternate flight with "confirmed" status. If the waitlist successfully clears, you will then have 2 confirmed flights and the TA will then be contacted by the airline and asked which one to cancel.
If you are concerned, I recommend calling the TA and asking. They should be able to explain the exact circumstances.
By the way, when flying LAX-DFW I always look for the 767 operated flights. Much more comfortable than the MD80 flights, especially in first class.
This site is just awesome. Now I need to learn a fourth language to understand abrev's. but I'll get there. I speak ausie, yank, swimming pool speak and now learning flying speak. I've just looked up my booking on one of the sites previously mentioned. I discovered the ta has booked two sep. flights 19 min's apart departing from DFW to LAX. Both bookings show not confirmed. When I look at my Qantas iternary, it shows only one and matches my iternary and ticketing from ta. Do i need to panic (more than I already am).
