20% bonus Qantas Points from credit cards [targeted, with personalised minimum points earn for 3 months]

My first time getting one of these offers - looks like I overlooked the initial email but got a reminder today - 8,550 points over 3 months for 20% bonus points. I shouldn't have any trouble meeting that target on my Amex, current spend is about $4k per month depending on travel bookings.

Very interesting. I wonder if QF are noticing a dip in point sales revenue, or if this is just a trigger to generate some more income by EOFY.

Just received an email saying I’m “well on my way”. I actually had completely forgot about this promo and I’m overseas, dropping everything on 28° MC….

Got a reminder today telling me I am well on my way, that I completely forgot about. My offer was 22,000 in 3 months. On the start day I received a CC sign up bonus, does that count?

Earn a minimum of 2,250 Qantas Points on your current Qantas Points earning credit card over the next three months, starting from 14 March 2023*. That’s an average of 750 Qantas Points per month.
And today I get another email saying I am now earning 20% more points on QANTAS linked cards.

Probably not but nice if it did!
I think it's only looking at base points, not SUBs or bonus points for certain types of spend. Example - I get an extra 2 pp$ on QF spend (3.25 pp$ in total) on a QF cc... but I'm only expecting to get the 20% promo on the 1.25 pp$ base. A running start to the promo for me... overshot the 3 month target of 24K by more than 3x in the first month. Oops :D

Cheers,
Matt.

My question would be is QF systems smart enough to know the difference between base point earn and bonus points earn on a cc? It all just arrives as CC points.

It does only look at base points
The 20% bonus Qantas Points will only be applicable on your standard earn rate over the next three months and will not be awarded on acquisition bonus points, bonus points offers or Qantas Points earned on Business Cards.

It may depend on your card, but certainly with the cards I have, Qantas know the difference.

I expect the bonus points above would be excluded...

But this would all count towards the points earn - which includes a sign-on-bonus - if only it was after the promotion started!

Got the reminder email today as well.
I have no recollection of this promo, don't know if I activated it, what my spend threshold is.... 🤷‍♂️
So just going to spend as normal. If I'm lucky some additional points might arrive .

Your specific spend threshold over the 3-statement period should be in the T&Cs on the e-mail. All are unique.

Not worth tracking my spend and changing any spending patterns for this promo, I don't spend enough for an extra 20% points to be worth worrying about (e.g a bonus 20% points on 5,000 points is only 1k extra points).

This is effectively going to be true for everyone (especially those on 15%) unless you have an unusually large commitment upcoming, perhaps one that aligns with the end of the financial year? ;)

I've brought forward a few payments to capitalise on the rather small reward, including gift card purchases, it might not work for all but it might just be a bit of inspiration regarding how to get the most out of the offer.

Also received and for 20%, though have a higher threshold of 24,750 points over 3 months to beat. That's less than my usual level, so looking good for a >5K bonus for nothing :)
I think I've now had 3 statement periods since the promo began; or does it mean QFF statement periods, and so we all wrap up at the end of June? I look to have beaten my threshold by between 3x & 4x (depending on how the calculate some things)... so now hoping a >20K bonus is forthcoming, after it closes.

Cheers,
Matt.
