It is not my experience, in Australia, that they check that the second person ever actually turns up, so I wouldn't even bother changing the booking.

I was wondering the same thing. I wouldn't mind dropping past to say hello to everyone. I'm not a 100% certainty at this stage though. More like 85%.

Even though I live on the north side of the CBD and could even walk to the Hilton South Wharf if I had to, I've booked a room for me +1. As Diamond I should get the Executive Lounge access.

I would love to attend, but fear that this will be cost prohibitive, as times are tighter than in past Xmas'es (and limited supply of FF points and no availability of award flights).

I wonder if I could get away with "I am meeting a large group of prospective clients" but I am sure Mrs LW would counter with "....who are all members of AFF." I'll just have to ring up and chat to some people there who I'd like to meet but as yet, have not had the pleasure. I have plenty of attendees' phone numbers

For all guests who will not be staying with us, we are happy to extend a special rate of $45 per person for the drinks and canapés in the Executive Lounge. And for all guests staying with us that night, but who do not have access to the Executive Lounge we are happy to offer a discounted price of $60 per room for access to the Lounge. (normal rate is $110)
