2013 Centurion Benefits

You can book hotels (including FHR hotels), but you cannot book FHR rates. Or am I missing something?

They show up with FHR branding on those hotels and I believe they include details of the benefits. You must be logged in to see this though (as they are only available to certain cardholders).

Sorry, I don't see it. I do these steps:

1. I go to americanexpress.com.au/travel
2. I log into my Centurion account
3. I see my name, points, etc on the upper right.
4. I search for sydney, certain date
5. I get 105 hotels and then search for Four Seasons (which is an FHR hotel)
6. It shows the hotel, some rooms and rates and some tripadvisor reviews, nothing about FHR
7. I select a room and rate and on the next page I get million of tours etc, but nothing about FHR

What am I doing wrong? Do you do or see something different?

Thanks.

Just received a call from Cathay rep based at Cairns airport regarding complimentary Marco Polo Diamond Membership courtesy of Cent.

Was basically a fishing exercise checking on flying frequency / pattern / destinations etc.

Was very cordial and jovial - explained my 10 x flts to PVG/PEK each year - explained most of it done with SQ but change is imminent as my fictitious relatives who formerly resided in SIN have actually moved to HKG and hence I may well be looking to re-route in future.

I did indeed travel 2 sectors on CX last week - purchased 2 x Y sectors PVG-HKG-MNL - upgraded to J on HKG-MNL. Have also started to look at CX MEL-HKG-TPE-PVG/PEK - it's that last sector that is giving me a guts ache.

Reading between the lines I suspect they are looking to scale back the handout of complimentary Diamond Memberships if they could ascertain 'zero potential' future customers. I might be wrong here - it will happen one day - I was wrong once before - grade 2 left my hanky home one day - never forgotten it.

You've got to learn not to be so hard on yourself Cruiser. I allow myself to be wrong once a year now, and I'm so much happier for it.

I sent my form in to Amex 3 weeks ago for the Cathay MPC Diamond - roughly how long does it take to process? I haven't heard anything back yet - just sent an email to my RM to ask.

I don't actually need it being QF WP, although I may miss out by a couple of hundred SCs this year (although I'm sure they'll comp it, seeing I hit over 2000 SCs last year), but wanted to get in before Feb 15 just in case they weren't going to renew it.

(I also just checked the form on the Centurion site - still says 15 Feb, whereas last year they extended the dates - maybe they just haven't got around to it yet).

I've received no call from Cathay and have my MPC Diamond up for renewal in less than 2 weeks (28th Feb). I spoke to my RM last week and inquired about renewal. Was told that the MPC Diamond renewal was in the hands of Cathay and not Amex, However, with that being said none of the RM's clients have called to advise that their MPC have not been renewed for another year and that it's assumed that it will be renewed for me as well. Counting down to see !

Am in discussions with Cent RM re retention / cancelation of Cent goinmg forward.

I specifically aske about MP Diamond Membership - the response:

Lastly, it has not been communicated to us that Marco Polo will be renewing or extending the Diamond Status Membership. I was advised that Marco Polo will contact our Centurion Cardmembers directly regarding their decision on this matter so I believe you will hear from them shortly.

So YES guys you will be getting a call from Cathay / MP. I received a call last Friday who a rep who was based in CNS - he told me each of his colleagues have had a list supplied to them for them to contact.

(I am feeling better now Waffle)

Just on Cent web site checking my renewal date - March 7, 2013 - Annual Fee $4,300. I assume will be 5K this year.

The thing is I note the Feb / Mar 2012 Statement I turned over 67K on Cent - post Oct 2012 I am averaging 3K a month - amazing huh?

Does that mean it will be renewed for some but not for all of us? Or are they gathering information and then make a general decision?

Some questions regarding how Cathay treats Diamond members:
Are they regularly upgrading Diamonds even when the booked cabin is not full, or only when the booked cabin is full?
Are there any upgrade options for Diamonds other than paid upgrades using miles?

NFI - you need to form your own opinion on this - don't trust my judgement - I have already been told this morn on AFF that I am 'incredibily silly'

Don't know - I did get upgrade last week Y to J - missed another upgrade on another sector when told J already full

Cruiser, you should tell the guy who finds it incredibly silly to give $20 to a taxi driver that we spend $5000 a year on a credit card and see what he thinks about that :)

That's what Amex call an enhancement lol :)

I've just taken the liberty to call Cathay Pacific and see if they knew anything about renewal of MPC for Centurion. The rep stated that "upon expiry (28th Feb) I would be downgraded to the green card". I tried to explain that it was part of a benefit with Amex Centurion and then he said I should give them a call, which I responded to in saying that Amex said to call Cathay. I'm not convinced he understood what Cenurion is/the complementary benefit etc. Anyways - 28th Feb is 6 days away...

Did you call your Cent RM?

Refer to my post quoted above earlier in this thread. Summary is, Cent RM had no idea if it was to renew but had none of her current Cent customers call and advise that renewal did not occur... or they may have not even noticed.

Don't understand why they can't provide a clear answer. Surely it's not that hard.

Based on above seems like some have been renewed again.

And my Cent RM told me it would be Cathay decision.

Cathay rep phoned me and wanted to know ins and outs of my travel patterns current and future - as I posted below.

Cathay rep also told me that ALL Cent holders will be contacted - their names have been distributed to a range of Cathay employees across Australia - it is their job to contact their allocated Cent holders.

I will pm you his name and contact details - you can contact him of you so please.

Thanks Cruiser Elite. Contact details received - I'll drop an email through, can't hurt. I'll be QF OWE in May after trip to LHR in F so not a biggie if it doesn't get renewed. Though, doesn't hurt to have as a backup just in case plans fall through.

I'm yet to be contacted by Cathay...

Did you receive an email notification? I've received nothing though can see it in the Cent portal.

On another note, d-day for MPC expiry today. Let's see if it rolls over tomorrow.
