He's making Mark's decision to vacate the seat look better and better....

Nice to hear the national anthem again...

Thoughts on the Hamilton vs Rosberg incident at SPA? apart from being a racing incident that didn't deserve any action from the stewards.

My opinion is that we've seen Hamilton cut across cars like this plenty of times in the past, regardless of racing line or not, and this time it didn't go his way and he wanted to spit the dummy.

Hamilton will always blame someone else. Rosberg was within his rights to have a go and Hamilton didn't leave him any room. That's the risk you take by not leaving room. Sometimes that works for you, sometimes it doesn't.

It's a racing incident and everyone should move on.

Of course it's F1 so normal rules don't apply.

Well done DR - 3 wins from the last 6 races. Well and truly flogged Vettel in "normal" conditions.

Actually Hamilton was not obliged to leave room, he isn't allowed to weave around, but even Rosberg would admit (with hindsight) that just sticking the front 1/3rd of his car close to the rear of another car is taking a fairly big risk, after seeing the replays online I haven't seen Hamilton weaving all over the road or unexpectedly braking. I have seen Rosberg and Hamilton plus many others such as Vettel and Alonso put themselves into almost as risky positions and none of them have been surprised when they have lost the nose cone or front wing off their car, so I don't know why Rosberg is so surprised, he was always going to run out of road there.

We have seen a lot of courageous/brave overtaking moves by Riccardo, Hamilton, Alonso and Vettel in the last few races but I think that Rosberg will regret that one. I would think that after being overtaken by Hamilton and Vettel on the start would have spooked Rosberg and possibly led to the lapse in judgement.

Anyway - great drive by Dan! Nice to see that Red Bull have adjusted their gearing and downforce to give them a bit of straight line speed and keep the Mercedes team honest. And a fun race to watch, Spa never seems to disappoint.... how about those Williams huh?

And what about Toro Rosso, signing that young fellow, Max Verstappen.
At 16 it must be like a dream come true.
OK, he will be 17 at his debut in MEL next year and he could just be the next hot find.
Time will tell and at that age he has plenty on his side.

Obliged may be the wrong term. If he (Ham) chops him off when he's there, you risk your rear tyre. Its just that usually the guy who loses his nose comes off worse so they back out, however the new rules on front wings have made the vertical posts very "sharp" and seem to like cutting the rear tyres of the car in front. There's plenty of examples this season and last where room has been left (or hasnt and the guy behind has run wide to avoid the contact). Rosberg just misjudged and with a millisecond to make the call, it's a racing incident. Everyone complains there's not enough overtaking yet a guy has a go and everyone whinges (or in this case, boos him on the podium).

And agree - great drive by Dan and he's taken all the opportunities he's had to capitalise on the MBs "lapses".

So much for promoting safety..

Hamilton said Rosberg admitted that the crash was deliberate.

I'm not sure Rosberg deliberately hit Hamilton, but he certainly didn't do his best to avoid the collision, and on only the second lap of a 44 lap race, that was a poor decision, and one which Mercedes Management are rightly livid about.

After a humiliating start, Rosberg's out of caricature Red Mist got the better of him, though Hamilton's subsequent sulking may have exposed a weakness, or perhaps even a trait, which is his biggest obstacle to the Championship.

Toto Wolf said that Rosberg would be disciplined, and that it would not be just a slap on the wrist. Since a monetary penalty would mean little to Rosberg, what do you think he should do?
