I've seen there is a promotion for double airmiles for stays to 31 october? How do you work out how many points you would get for a stay - I'm thinking US Airways miles.

Trying to work out whether it would be better to points stack (closure risks noted) or take the double miles.

Edit: with the promo code where it says "elite" members - is this just platinum elite or gold elite as well?

they have dried up since IHG started cracking down and closing accounts.

Thought as much, and I missed out on the into the nights .......

Got the 100% bonus for points purchase so might buy a few as well ......

Does anybody know or have experience of whether paying for club access at an IC is considered an eligible charge for earning points when on a reward night stay? Not having much luck with IHG rewards at the moment getting a straight answer.

So you going to pay extra for club lounge at an I/C on a reward stay ? Not sure how that would work to start with.

I got points on food and drink on a reward stay at HI Vanuatu in Sept, so I guess based on that you should get the points for the extra you pay for club access.

Might be cheaper just to get Ambassador membership and book the room just under club?

Anything on your bill normally accrues points during an award stay unless its a third party charge such as a car park not managed by the hotel.

Often you can pay a supplement to get club access.

Thanks markis10. I had a 4 night reward stay at IC Hong Kong recently and paid the supplement for club access. They offered it to me for a very good daily rate but no points awarded for anything during the stay and the comms so far with IHG has been that I'm not entitled to any points as it is a rewards night rate. Time to pick up the phone.

Call me 'DANGER MAN' .... ( lol )

I signed my partner up with IHG Dining Rewards.

Worked out, we are going to benefit from a 'dual membership' in the household.

Her 'offer' is for 50,500 points.

... and, we are going to meet all the requirements ( of which there were only five ).

... and, I added ( to her account ) several of the 'codes'.

Most of them loaded, a few didn't.

What I have done, is PREPAID the accommodation required for this current 'Set Your Sights' promotion ( up to and including 30th. April )

If IHG want to pull the 'code stacking' thing with her ( us ), then they would need to cancel four nights prepaid.

Any anecdotes to suggest they WOULD do that ??

By which stage they have your money, as it's prepaid (and you could have done the stays). Check out other FF chat sites for the previous promotions and the pitfalls.

Mmmmm, despite seeing the codes register and appear on 'My Status', the other day they disappeared ...

All that's left is 'Set Your Sights'.

Have we seen the last of these 'codes' ??

Has there been anything for Australia in the past year ??

I tried some of the ones available on the web on an empty account last year-none of them registered :(

Thought as much ...

Looks like the M.O. is to 'offer' discounts via the IHG Rewards pages from the website.

Eg. discounts for dining at select properties etc.
