That F1 is not on free-to-air, coupled with the even more boring that F1 has become (even compared to how boring it was mid-2000's), is why I didn't know there was even a race on last night..

Wow - what a chaotic race, almost as fun as Silverstone! As it turns out I had to see the delayed replay on One last night so had been hiding off-line and no TV or radio to spoil the result, and boy was it worth it. Maybe seemed more chaotic and unpredictable as it was edited down to 55min of highlights?

Very nice trubutes to Jules Bianchi - obviously edited out due to time constraints both before and after the race.

The main take-away from this is that it seems the Mercedes are not unbeatable anymore. We finally saw a bad start by both Mercedes cars so they didn't just sail off into the horizon like they normally do. The Mercedes are beatable if they are caught in traffic, on a track that dosen't suit raw straight line speed, under pressure from other cars, if Hamilton or Rosberg have a day day at the office (which they both did), very unkind safety car timing, poor pit wall team calls (a-la Monaco) and wrong tyres on at the wrong time (Rosberg) plus other drivers prepared to have a bit of contact and go racing. So the Mercs might be beatable if a number of those things happen to Mercedes, at Hungary we seemed to see that whatever could go wrong for Mercedes did go wrong.....

Full credit to Vettel as he has really driven the wheels off a much improved Ferrari this season, and looks like an even tougher and more mature and competent driver than the height of his Red Bull career. Shocking luck for Kimi with reliability (and going too early onto the wets at Silverstone) but if he ever does get a reliable car, we can expect a massive effort from Raikkonen to try to save his seat at Ferrari this season, hopefully soon.

Still get the feeling that the manufacturers championship is over already, but what we saw was a bunch of young guys racing for a better seat in next years cars, such as Ricciardo Verstappen and Kvyats efforts, Alonso pushing his McClaren into pit lane during quali - it all seems to say that there are still some hungry guys out there whom want to end the Mercedes dominance.

Anyway - Spa coming up - which is an awesome track - and if we get some rain or safety cars or anything weird we might have an interesting race.

Its a shame no-ones watching F1 as the last 2 races have been the most exciting in the 2015 season so far - in what has otherwise been a dull and uninspiring season of Hamilton and Rosberg processions.

I think you've answered your own question/statement there. :)

Looking forward to SPA, brings back memories of sitting on the track looking down through Eau Rouge a couple of years ago... awesome place to be.

Agreed..
Also don't know whether RIC can't start, or whether it's just the low powered donk in front.

Didn't realise the bump with Bottas was that large. Three fairly large touches and still finished 3rd

Any one got comments on Massa's suggestion for enclosed coughpits? He of course is speaking from experience of having an object strike his exposed helmet.
TO be honest, I'm not sure why F1 hasn't headed down the path of enclosed coughpits, I think it has all sorts of advantages from safety, aero, sponsorship and especially, that it'd look so cool! Its not like you can see the drivers eyes anymore.

Yeah they would need aircon too :)

The second half of the season is off to an exiting start.

The manual start looks like it suited RIC by moving from 6th to 3rd.

HUL and MAL already out due to mechanicals, with SAI a lap down.

Good to be back! Bit early for RIC to stop though...but I guess that's why I'm not employed by a f1 racing team. :)

Nooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep was a shame. Are we the only users here that are dedicated to watch F1 live? :)

It's nice to have the racing back.. but this race I thought would have a little more action. I'd be surprised if the rain comes in time..
